    escaping escape windows

I've had mine unlatch, too. I think it was caused by something in that convenient behind-couch storage spot pressing on a latch while stuff swayed back and forth in that spot (driving bumpy roads too fast) until the window opened. But no loss (not even Kleenex) as far as I can tell. I...

    Which Wave to go

Running mine on low all night I didn't see the guage budge. Theoretically you can no longer overfill the tanks. The OPD (overfill prevention device) is supposed to prevent this. I don't think the horizontal RV propane tanks need an OPD, I think the older ones were grandfathered in.

    Fall!

Well we got about 3" overnight and this morning here at 4200' in S. NM. Just over freezing so the roads should clear but you can't really get out of town because parts of US70, I10, and I25 are closed. I40 North of here is also closed. The place would go belly up if there was a real snow. Dogs...

    BFG A/T's kinda disappointing?

At the time, the 255-80/17's were the tallest BFG (33.3 inches) tire they made that was a Load Range E. Dick Cepek made a 35 inch Load Range E at the time, but 33.3 was the tallest E tire BFG made. I believe BFG is now making a 35 inch Load Range E. At the time I had to decide between 35...

    Would you do this?....

at least the typical US tourons. Glad to hear someone else using that fine term. It has been in my vocabulary about 30 years, especially when finishing a long wilderness outing and getting close to civilization one would start running into them.

    BFG A/T's kinda disappointing?

I run BFG Mud Terrains in 255-80/17's on my F250. Kind of surprised you don't run something wider. I imagine you get less rolling resistance with a 255. I have 285/75/16's on my F250, thought about going narrower thinking that might be better on the highway where most of the time is spent but...

    recharging computer and camera batteries

I thought there was a plug on the outside of the camper for that? That's power in, the inside plugs are AC for whatever. If at home I run the fridge on the AC before I leave. You could do air conditioning, coffee maker, whatever.

Where are you going to take your camper in 2012

Congrats Barko. Hope you have many happy years together. 2012 will be 40 for us. WOW that's alot. 'for her'. We hope to wander west in mid august and sept. Merry Christmas everyone. Looks like you are going to fly that camper over Illinois and Iowa, not a bad idea

    recharging computer and camera batteries

A few questions as I prepare to order I know nothing about electrical systems. I would like to carry my regular camera battery chargers and recharge those batteries. I'd also like to plug in my computer and keep it charged or charge it went low. How do I do this in the FWC camper? Do I need...

Where are you going to take your camper in 2012

Definitely big congrats to you, Barko! Gracias, I'd like to stop by Apache sometime and show her around, she's a midwesterner  Hasn't seen a thing out this way so it should be fun.

    BFG A/T's kinda disappointing?

I do tend to drive relatively fast on snow, so I should be giving them a good, rigorous, test, anyway. (My philosophy about hazardous driving conditions: The faster you go the sooner you'll be through it. ) Yes the F250 with a camper is a heck of a sports car :D At the moment I'm getting...

Where are you going to take your camper in 2012

To make a long story short I'm driving the camper to Georgia to pick up my new wife :D Then hauling her and stuff back to New Mexico and will probably get to repeat that in a couple months (just getting more stuff not another wife). Plus a visit to the Midwest to show off. Then once we get...

    Fall!

"Blizzard makes travel 'dangerous' or 'impossible' in parts of West..." Any of you in CO or NM been getting some of this? In Oregon (and California?) we seem to be in a hard drought right now...for the past few weeks now and looking to continue for another week or two at least. At 4200' in...

Most secure - truck cab or camper?

It took me a little while, but I get it now. Nice one. (Cut me a little slack, I am a midwesterner.) Probably not wise for you to flash your gear up on the North Shore

Where did you take your camper in 2011?

I can relate. Only had one short vacation in 2011, and no extended holidays, so I was stuck with mostly 2 and 3 day trips. Just NM, AZ and CO for me. Good states though :D

    Stuck & Un-stuck -- Safely

I agree, sort of... Probably there's more to say about this humble jack. In particular, how to store it so that it is accessible and out of the corrosive effects of the weather. Why not leave it in this thread? Interesting, interesting... I just carry the jack in the back seat on the floor...

I went to the FWC factory on Monday - here's my build list

I visited the FWC factory on Monday. I met Tom, Steve, and Stan. It seems like a great company making a great product. Below is where I’m at with my current thinking. The FWC staff were very helpful and answered all of my questions. What I’m hoping to get from you all is a broader set of...
