    More from South Utah

A few pics from last week. Took the trailer so I could haul my daughters ATV and my dirt bike. This is Alpine AZ and the fire damage from this summer Along the San Juan near Bluff, UT Comb Wash Rougher trails South of Moab Moab grocery, who is this?? And another along the river Sego...

    Canyon de Chelly

High Z I agree, the Mescalero area is cleaner than NW NM. Shiprock is always depressing to me, bad housing, trash, and the young male unemployment rate is, I am guessing, near 50% in places. Solutions are difficult, education would seem to be a way out, and is for a small number but it is...

    Canyon de Chelly

Sadly New Mexico is probably the dirtiest state in the union :( Not only on the reservations, which of course are some of the poorest communities in our country, but throughout much of the state. The culture doesn't seem to have many internal rules about throwing crap out windows or just...

    Dreams of the White Rim

Heal! I was just up there and Tuesday the weather went to hell. From sunny and 70 in the morning to a strong rain, wind, and 40's in the afternoon. We were starting to head back anyway. You might want to check out some of the roads in the San Rafeal Swell, NW of Hanksville. No permits needed...

    Dirty Door

That dirt and mud is a badge of honor to be proudly displayed :) I never worry or think much about it and when I get back from a trip I usually hit the whole mess with my pressure washer set on fan spray. As for mattresses my older Grandby comes with a thicker and thinner mattress on top, I add...

    Any suggestions for S. Utah

I was outside of Bluff, UT on Comb Wash. Sorry I wasn't able to get back with you sooner... Well we were there as well. Then went to the Hook and Ladder OHV area S of Moab. Spent one night on the river by another FWC, then on to the Sego petroglyphs site and then South Temple area of the San...

I have 5 or 6 of these in various place in the truck and camper and they work great. Lol, I have a few around as well, ey usually are free. That new one is pretty good, used it in the camper last night, for $2.50 it was almost worth the batteries.

    Any suggestions for S. Utah

Well I have the trailer and ATV with me. TRuck headed up 191 into S. Utah last night, stayed by the San Juan. This morning took the ATV and my Husky 250 up Comb Wash, great ride. Lot more fun for me on the bike than a truck. Now I am getting ready to cook some dinner, In Devils Canyon South of...

    LED or Fluorescent ?

FWIW I just bought a battery (AA) LED from Harbor Freight, 24 LEDs on the main light and 3 on the end to be used as a Flashlight. Has a hook to hang it from, plenty bright, with a coupon cost me $2.50

Best cell phone carrier for "wandering"?

I'm on the banks of the San Juan in S UT and am on an ATT connected IPad and have no signal on my Verizon network.

    Used FWC camper alert

Upholstery. What a pain this turned out to be. What we wanted was pretty simple. Two bottom cushions to form an L shaped bench, one backrest to run the length of the camper from the front wall all the way to the side of the pantry, and a pair of 15 x 24" cushions which we could use as back...

    Office Meetings

Clever video. One of my best friends says he knew his ability to tolerate climbing further up the corporate ladder had ended was when his organization started having meetings to plan meetings. He's happily retired today. Foy Last time I was in a tunnel MRI I was feeling rather...

    Office Meetings

 Pretty good. Unfortunately (or fortunately) part of the reason I retired early was I absolutely couldn't tolerate the meetings held just to have a meeting, and everyone shaking there head

    Any suggestions for S. Utah

Bike on the rack, more freedom to go where you want, and the bike (if plated) lets you go more places also, including in the National Parks like Arches and Canyonlands. You can cover much more ground on the bike. For example, White Rim takes me 6-8 hours each time on a bike, so an easy day...

    LED or Fluorescent ?

In my case I run a hitch mounted motorcycle carrier often so I have an additional 400 lbs out past the bumper. I would not even try that camper/carrier combo on my 1/2 ton. See you have a TE! I just picked up a TE250 and at times will haul it on my rear rack, Cool little machine.

    Any suggestions for S. Utah

I'm heading out Friday for a week but haven't quite narrowed down the destination. Today I am thinking head towards Tuweep and then North to Rt 12 through Capital Reef area, Hanksville and the Southern Swell, or maybe over to Moab then back home to NM. I may take my daughters ATV, that...

    Tighten those tie downs

Did you ever get some nuts? What a thing to say :o Even since I have mounted my camper on top of 2" of blue foam board my tie downs have stayed snug, not sure about my nuts though. Maybe the foam soaks up some of that jarring. Reminds me to go check, I was in a very nasty rocky road a few...
