    New vent: goop?

Done. Used 5200 'cause it was at the big orange box. Took maybe an hour. Been putting it off for a year or so. Thanks for all the advice.

    New vent: goop?

So, is it sticky and messy? Thanks. I looked for the previous posts but couldn't find them.

    New vent: goop?

Time to replace the roof vent. What sealer should I use?

    Wireless Back-Up Camera

I bought a cheap one. It's wired to the taillight when the camper is loaded. It transmits to a monitor that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Works OK but my buddy has one that he monitors on his phone. Pretty cool.

    Bench Seat to Bed

On my 2000 Eagle, the bench was a one-piece plywood with folding legs. You slid the seat away from the wall, folded down the legs, and put the seat back flat between the seat and the wall.

Narrow it down for me please. ...

I'm a former backpacker and trailer owner. Now a happy FWC owner. Where do you live? I think it would help you and your wife to see and walk around in the campers you're considering. The best advice I've heard here is pick the camper then the vehicle.

    Alaskan Running Light Bulb Number?

Take it down to your local auto parts store. They should have something. Once you figure it out, find some LED replacements.

    Oops

Here's what happens when you don't keep some air in the Firestone Ride Rites. I was able to fix them by raising the frame off the axle with a floor jack, inflating them to 100# and then gradually lowering the jack while reducing the pressure and massaging the bladder back down onto the cylinder.

    Using camper on jacks

The common wisdom here and from 4WC is to only go in it with the floor supported. I must have missed that instruction when I got mine. For the first 15 years I used the jacks to level it by lifting one end off the bed and I have often gone inside while it's on jacks only to work on it or...

    Thinking About Replacing The Ranger

I have an '03 Ranger with the 3.0 L V-6, extended cab, and 2WD. I feel that it hauls my Eagle just fine. It's got 250,000 miles on it. I put a new tranny in it last year and plan to put a new engine in when the time comes. Way less expensive than replacing it.

    Key FOB programming

Call around. Many locksmiths are getting set up to do these keys but they are pricey. I paid $125 for a second key for my van.

Counter Height FWC Fleet Flatbed? Flush Mount sink model?

I built my cabinet 36" tall. This is pretty much standard inall the home kitchens I do but the definition of "custom" is building to your own desires.

Weighing my FWC options (shell vs standard; fleet vs swift; now vs later) help talk me through it pl

You haven't said where you're located. If you did, there might be some FWC owners nearby who can share their experiences. Also If you can hold out until one of the annual camp outs you can get a lot of good first hand advice that way too. I don't know how much the price increase is but you can...

My FWC dealer went bankrupt last week, and I pick it up tomorrow.

Get the number of their best mechanic so you can hire him directly if you need to. Not the cheapest way to go but it could save you time. BTW, not much goes wrong with these things. My 2000 Eagle has been in the shop one time 'cause of my own error.

    What is this?

    Yes, should read 69" wide.

    Jack Brackets

I use these: http://www.riecotitan.com/accessories/swingawayez.php I just need to swing the jacks out while loading to clear the fender flares. These made it way easier to load the camper.

Outside window flap - anyone cut these off?!?!

I cut mine off a few years ago when I saw the new ones didn't have them. No problems in the rain storms I've been in.

    Fleet/Eagle window sizes

FWC is always tweaking thing like this so I suggest you pick windows that fit your design. My 2000 Eagle has a 53 1/2" x 16 1/2" front double slider and a 67 1/2" x 21 1/2" side single slider measured at the outside edge of the frame.

    Campground maps

I bought the Ultimate Campgrounds app for my cell phone. Great resource except a lot of places we all go don't have cell service. So I went back to the UC website, bought their POI database and followed the instructions. This is a CSV file which opens up as a spreadsheet. I edited out all...

What do you use for a door mat?

Ditto again for two Astroturf mats. One on the ground and one on the Stack-on Step 'n Stor step stool. Stored behind the portapotty when traveling.
