Here are some pics of the solar power system. It uses two bp solar 80W panels and a morningstar ProStar 30 amp digital charge controller. I designed the system to be stand alone. It is wired separate from all existing electrical systems. This allows me to connect the charge controller to the...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Eyebolts pulling truck bed apart

 The R/front eye bolt has pulled the bed apart. It has pulled the bed up about 3" and separated from the sides of the bed. The l/front eyebolt is just starting to pull the bed apart. I could hammer the bed back down and maybe add some metal on the underside to make it a little stronger...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West LEDs Make the Big Time

be careful on which method you use to secure them. I used some kind of caulking/silicon not sure and it corroded the pcb which caused some of the leds to fail. All it takes is a little silicon or velcro to get it to stick. also note which direction you mount th lights. straight down is good...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Latest mod-Engel Fridge

the MT45/35 are rated at 2.7A @ 12 volts. Cycle time will depend on ambient temp and what you set the thermostat at. Mine is pretty quiet. Sounds a little like a desktop pc. I added a solar system to keep up with the freezers current draw.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Latest mod-Engel Fridge

Good buy! After reading everyone here buying engle fridge/freezers i bought one too. I went with the 35 which is as you know a little shorter. It's lighter and a better fit (height) in my compact truck. We'll see in the long run if i made a good choice on size vs the 45. I built a flat...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Big Truck

S Anyone know why they would jackup an F650 and not just a 250 or 350? Not like that would be useful for towing or hauling anyway. Because everybody has a lifted F250/350 and they have lots of disposable cash ;)

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West is a car wash safe

I wouldn't even put a $2000 honda through a car wash. :D I'd be worried about water getting inside compartments, behind the exterior siding, etc in addition to ripping off a fantastic fan vent, popup latch, or camper jack.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West AWD FWD confusion

With all the new urban 4x4's on the market, I'm getting to the point that I don't understand what they are doing with AWD/FWD systems anymore. What is the difference between AWD and "Full Time FWD". Are most SUV's on the market not using FWD systems like we have in our trucks? Full time four...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Are there any pics of a Eagle size camper on a full size F250, 2500, etc?

I've seen someones pictures of a tundra (iirc) here but how would it look/fit on 3/4 or 1 ton truck. My camper is pretty well dialed in and I wouldn't want to have to go out and buy a new larger camper as well as a new (to me) truck.

Hahaha .. Nothing top secret. I want to be able to pass an ant. cable from the bunk area to the roof for sat or cell phone antenna. Reception isn't good under the roof and the cables are too short to run any other way. Plus I want to be able to pull the antenna in without having to go...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Pass thru in popup material?

I need to have an access through the popup material so I can get to the roof. I was thinking about using a zipper or maybe a velcro setup just like the windows (without the screen of course) It needs to be big enough for my arm. Any ideas?
