RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Diesel Heater Installs

I believe this is a correct install. Not a 4 wheel camper, but roughly same floor pack. 3 years and no problems.

Here is my diesel heater install. Been using it 3 years now. Jan 2. 2024 thru Feb 16 in Ouray, CO. Ice climbing. Back to CO in May for 3 weeks spring alpine season this year. It is cold up there that time of year. No problems with heater. Headed back in Jan 2025. Still same cheap heater in home...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Diesel Heater in Your Camper?

I put a diesel heater in my home built camper. I like it. I don’t think it it loud inside or outside the camper. I used it 27 days in SW Colorado for ice climber season. I have a fuel tank on back of camper so I can mix kerosene 50-50. Heater has a high altitude setting, but at 10,000 ft. It...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New camper build

I used Sherwin-Williams porch and floor paint on the exterior floor pack. I did sew the fabric my self. A buddy gave me an army tent that was damaged in a storm. Mostly the frame. I had to seam it together in three places. The one on camper at this time has no windows in the fabric. I am almost...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New camper build

Thank You for the kind words. I have a front dinette. My daughter is making the cushions for me. I tried to make drawers, but they were not coming out like I wanted them. In the end my counter top hinges up, and has storage dividers. My frig sits on top of my diesel heater box. I still need...

Have not weighed it yet. I doesn’t seem to bother the 3/4 ton Cummins. Sits level.

While this camper is not as slick as a factory built, I can honestly say I did it my self. With heat, solar, and a frig, I am still under 5100.00.

I have 60# lift struts. The roof with solar weights 120#. It lifts very easily and just a little tug brings it down.

I have 2 tops for camper. They are made out of vinyl covered pvc. The material used on back county or military tents. One has no windows.this camper will be used in CO during mixed alpine and ice climbing season. Will be hard enough to stay warm at altitude. I have a diesel heater installed. It...

Could not find a reasonably priced door. Mac’s Metal made my siding, and gave me a door frame. I cut the frame down, and made door from scratch.

Camper frame is 1x2, 1x3, 1x4’s. I used construction adhesive, screws, and wide crown staples to fasten it together. The design is very similar the BundyTec campers. There was a article in Truck Camper Magazine with very good photos of their frames. Mine is close but not exactly the same.
