RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Just Bought a Vintage Alaskan 8' NCO and I Have Tons of Questions!

Jo, Towing and carrying are two different animals entirely. When you're towing you're essentially "pulling" with a tongue weight that's determined by how you "loaded" your trailer and varies significantly. The weight of your camper "dry" is around 1200-1400 pounds depending on additions and...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Just Bought a Vintage Alaskan 8' NCO and I Have Tons of Questions!

some creative interior decorating....from what I can see...the one corner looks real good and your back door as well....so far so good.... the small piece of thin plywood with the electrical diagram used to be the cover for an electrical circuit breaker box...it slid in a narrow slot to form a...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Reico-tritan jacks - mounting and usage

Congratulations....good choice Rieco makes extended brackets just for dually trucks,,,not having a dually I haven't got the experience on this one...but it would seem the forward jacks are all that would be needed... the jacks themselves should not lean in at all...perpendicular.....straight...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Alaskan on flatdeck

no...the top half does not need to rest on a bulkhead..... bolted down to a deck, the top will rest on the brackets inside the camper at the top of the hydraulic cylinders. When used as a slide in camper, which is removed when done....it is wise to shore up the truck bed walls to or very near...

There were quite a few different stove manufacturers supplying stoves to Alaskan in the different assembly plants. I'll second that...nice looking interior....1/2 ton pickup and big enough for 1 or 2.....and 6000 + on the first trip. I'm interested in how you found the short camper for comfort on the trip back.... with some of the economical 1/2 ton engines these days.....that might be a...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Lift Points/hydraulic seals

I have NEVER seen a lift from the top section (nor would I advise it)...all I have seen are lifts from the bottom section.
