RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Urban Camping

The very first place I used my camper was at the sale jan 1 at Fry's. Instead of sitting in chairs with blankets we just backed up to the line and spent the night. Monday night we stayed at walmart in Cedar City Utah. There was another fwc on a ford 3/4. Must of been stealth camping or...

You aren't kidding. I was just a houseguest and would have much preferred sleeping in my camper. Hopefully this was the last time I have to leave my truck at home.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Soaked Roof Pack/Headliner!?!

Before I sealed my camper I made sure to park it so it slanted toward the back. It kept the water from pooling. Maybe instead of all campers leak. All campers will leak at some time.

I am soo happy with my fwc!!! We have been camping in the camper in a parking lot in Anahiem this week while it rained and rained and rained. We were dry and warm while the wind blew and the rain no longer was pitter patter on the roof but the sound of a waterfall upon the roof. We even drove...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Solar Panel Mount

When I bought my 4wheel it had the solar panel mounted to the factory rack. It is mounted on one side with hinges so it can be tilted, which I never have done. It is mounted at the back and the cord comes down on a springy cable ( like a phone cord). It then goes into side of the camper...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Four Wheel Campers Review - Member Input

I love my fwc and more importantly so does my wife. We have a converted coach for living the plush camp life but enjoy taking the fwc on real camping trips. We spent a month in Florida and loved it. We are now in Alaska and used it to take a 600 mile trip to Wrangle-St Elias Park. It rained...

From a spec sheet from the mfg. ground clearance is the lowest point of the vehicle to the ground. So a chevy might have a good number such as 9.5 inches compared to say a dodge. But the undercarriage can be lower overall and hence the talk of what users refer to as ground clearance. In real...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West An Interesting Photo

We found a nice secluded free camp area near the everglades and settled in for a nice day with only two other campers. All was paradise until around midnight a group of punks drove in with loud music and foul language. Hooting and hollering they were everywhere in the area. There was plenty of...

Regarding the fantastic fan. This company has great support. Many times free parts. I called the company about mine and they said they would fix it for free. Just send it in. They sent back a nice note that said it was beyond repair but enclosed is a brand new one no charge. They used to...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Camping with Jacks

Stan - Great solution! I am a fulltime RVer and tow my Ranger/Eagle behind the bus. I have to keep my jacks on so I can take the camper off when I need the truck for other purposes. I will make up a couple of pieces of plywood and store them under the camper 'til needed.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Removing Camper

I leave my jacks on all the time because I am a full time RVer. Whenever I need an empty truck I take the camper off. Still it is a pain. The hardest pat is the tie downs under the couch etc. The backing of the truck under the camper is rough too. I only have a little bit of leeway.

I have a roof vent cover like maxx air and leave the vent open all the time. The only down side is that it raises the profile a little. Ina parking garage I had to air down my air bags to get under a support beam but that's the only time it mattered. Steve

I'll play. Cummins less moving parts. Earlier trucks had problems with the automatics. Ford has much more heavy duty frames. Chevys are comfy.
