RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West CB Needed?

I'll echo nitesquid (sorry, that's how I read it), my neighbor gave me a spare CB and since I hooked it up I've heard nothing but noise, maybe the occasional wolfman wannabe. That includes the center of the Bay Area, less than a mile away from Hwy 880 which is a solid wall of trucks 24/7. I do...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Dispersed camping outside Yosemite

Add to this Buck Meadows Road, it's close enough to the park to do day trips. There are a few spots near creeks where you can cool your ankles. Also Lumsden Bridge campground is nice and right on the Tuolumne River, great rock jumping into the river when they release water for the rafting...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West SF Bay to Denver

As far as 80 stopovers, we stayed at Rye Patch state rec area near Winnemucca NV, it was a well spaced, shady quiet campground. We came in late and bounced out early so we didn't even check out Lassens Meadows Lake but it looks like an excellent lake to explore via boat. Any favorite spots in...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West SF Bay to Denver

We are planning a 10-day road trip from the SF Bay to Denver and back. I think we'll beeline on 80 out there and take our time exploring on the way back, probably try to catch my uncle in Salida, CO (Route 50). We'll be in our Transit camper conversion, 2 adults, 2 small kids and the dog. We...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Central CA Recommendos?

Well we backed out of the driveway with EXACTLY 25,000 miles on the ODO and got home with 25,618. The first night was Williams Hill near Lockwood. Thanks for that one, Tuff Guy, that little campground is a real gem! Great views, clean toilet, quiet neighbors, and the picnic shades are a nice...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Beware of scam to capture your cell #

Thanks for this, I have gotten a similar call and fortunately hung up. I use craigslist a lot, I get everything from scams to stoned teenagers prank calling me. I finally got my own Google Voice number that is disposable when too many weirdos get ahold of it.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Possibly going to Saline Valley Warm Springs this next week

Tee hee...last time we were there, we met a man who shall forever be known as ZZ Topless...turned out to be one of my better campfire stories. Enjoy, that's a really great spot.

Great tips, all. I reckon Shaver Lake is under snow right now? Or has it moved on to mosquito season?

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Central CA Recommendos?

Thanks for the tips, Frank. The San Simeon site sounds ideal. Last spring I had a killer boondocking spot in Carrizo, spectacular view. We will try to grab that one again, but I'm sure there are many others.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Central CA Recommendos?

Hi all, long time wanderer, first time poster. We are a family of four with a 5 and 3 year old, normally we would head for the Central Coast on our spring break, but with Hwy 1 and Nacimiento/Fergusson messed up there will be no Big Sur for us. I did a solo trip to Carrizo last spring and...
