RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Where is the ground?

My circuit breaker is above the rear door. It's trimmed in wood with a switch for the porch light. On mine, you cannot miss it

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Where is the ground?

In a mid 60s alaskan, where does the ground wire connect to the body? Does it run from the external 3 prong connector back to the circuit breaker, or terminate to the body before the panel? In my case I have bare copper wire from my external connector, but it does not go into my circuit breaker...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Marker light do not work

Dkoug The 110 and 12v wiring share the same wiring. If you want to run 12 v change your bulbs out to 12 v bulbs when plugged into truck power, and voila!

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Marker light do not work

The marker lights on my camper do not work. Ive scoped out a wiring diagram (posted on this board) that refrences a '69 unit, and it seems as if it would be relevant. I am not certain what year my unit is, but it has old Hehr windows (louvered) so I figure mid 60's or earlier. I also have the 2...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Aluminium skin...repaint or leave naked?

I think bare is okay...think airstreams. Aluminum as you probably already know, oxidizes, but that may or may not concern you as its oxidization is the same color as the metal itself. Ive stripped aluminum before and in this case you will probably want to use a chemical stripper, and clean VERY...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West converting couches to a bed?

This is a stupid question, and I know it, but how in the world do you covert the two couches and the table into a bed?? I have what seems to be a groove where the table looks like it would slide into to create a platform for the cushions but my original table is about 1/2 inch to narrow to fit...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New to me alaskan

Thanks for the info... I actually got the nerve to go light ALL my appliances today and to my surprise everything worked. I had the heater on about 2/3s power and tested in for about 4-5 hours with a CO detector. All was well to this point. I dont thing mine is a catalytic heater however, but...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New to me alaskan

HEY everyone! So I just purchased an Alaskan after years of searching. I live in Colorado and for whatever reason every one I ran across was in very poor shape, or not for sale. Finally found a vague posting on CL that had a truck and camper for sale...but the lady was willing to separate. Long...
