RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Cheap, easy fix for a difficult, expensive problem

No, sorry. After completion of all the repairs, I took a 100 mile ride with the camper on my 4 cylinder Tacoma and realized it was just too heavy and sold it.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Cheap, easy fix for a difficult, expensive problem

I tried using just gas struts and getting the top aligned to close it was a problem. I made a simple bi-fold panel out of ply for both ends and it worked great.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Uh oh, its not just maintenance

After rescuing a FWC and repairing the lift panels, the cab over and replacing the headliner and canvas. I gave up. An aluminum frame that is not tied into the lower section and anchor points is worthless. Sorry folks, a camper advertised for four wheeling should do better..just my .02 cents..

Working full-time, out of town. I drive my TC each week and stay in the camper 3 nights. I tried moteling, I got real tired of dragging a suit case back and forth, eating take out, etc. I load my fridge Sunday afternoon and exchange my dirties for clean. It's like having home with me. I guess...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Outfitter Roof Rack

Anyone with a rack on their outfitter? I was surprised to read in the manual that the roof is not designed to lift a load. Boy, I missed that when I bought it, Hallmark lifts theirs with a quad on the roof and mine can't handle a blow up kayak.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Outfitter Serial Number

Can someone tell me where it would be? I would think it would be in plain sight, I'm wondering if it was removed by the PO or possibly never got a plate? Well, I would like to join the owner's forum, but no serial no. I have questions.. how to mount solar panels to the fiberglass roof...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Cab Over Struts

I thought these were generic. There isn't much travel, maybe a inch or so, I found a pair at Walt's RV in Rialto,CA for $25 if I remember correctly. I'm sure they weren't more than 50 for the pair. The hood mounts were expensive from Lance. I still have mine mounted, I'm not using them. They...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West to regear or supercharger?

I have a 95 Taco, 4x4, 2.7 4 cylinder auto. I bought it new and the build sheet said it was 4:10 gearing, it came with 31's. I moved up to 33's and it became a dog. I made a appointment with Yota Masters and ordered 4:56 gears. When they got into it, they found 4:56 gears. We stepped up to...

I recently took ownership of a 2010 Outfitter Apex 8. I was suprised to find, or rather not to find; towel racks, shaving mirror, toilet paper dispenser and toiletry storage in the camper. Having some experience with rv's, and knowing myself a bit better now days, I didn't want to drill any...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Lagun Cockpit Table

Thanks Bill, I went to Springfield Marine's website ( the manufacturer) and found a "scratch and dent" for $85 and took the chance it will work okay. From your video it looks like it will do the job.

Ugh, this has been a frustrating experience. I hope having the camper is a better experience than buying it has been. Between the closest dealerships being 650 miles away, and the poor service at one of them, and the bank throwing fits about the unbuilt camper and needing to get a serial...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Custom Alcan Springs for Gen 1 Tacoma

I had custom springs built for my 2004 Toyota Tacoma truck just before we decided to sell the camper and truck.
