RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BUILD: New Flatbed for standard FWC

Ended up doing a quick overnighter following the MULE Expedition Outfitters open house this weekend. Opened it up to the PNW FWC Owner's Meetup group and had a taker. Always a fun time getting to know other owners and get the rigs out and about. I was really happy with the bed performance -...

We ended up keeping the spare in the stock location. The truck before mine was the Haulmark rig and they got a custom bumper done by SherpTek also - it was a flawless match/fit. I would think that they could do anything you could dream of - there were many times I said "what if..." and it...

I don't mind, but everything is based on bed size and options desired so take it with a grain of salt. The bed itself is comparable to any off-the-shelf, common option you see these days...but it's obviously not an off-the-shelf product. My base price for the bed (lights, cab guard, fuel box...

Wow, nice work! I agree - I think the sides being unsealed is a non-issue. Nothing is going in there that is super sensitive or isn't otherwise packaged anyway, so I'm with you on that one. Great looking setup :)

I can't say for sure, but they definitely have the Hawk dimensions down pat - we might have measured 100 times, haha. The biggest trouble was the difference between Chevy CAD measurements and reality. I bet if you work with them and are willing to take some measurements, it could happen...

And with that, I feel my level of function has increased exponentially. My kids can put their feet on the floor again as I move the "aisle pile" to my new locked storage bins. Recover gear and other dirty bits are no longer in the truck OR in the camper. Not sure yet where I'll put the diesel...

Sorry everyone, things got delayed on my end. Ended up having a baby and buying a house so things have been a little chaotic lately. SherpTek pushed a couple other builds through to completion while waiting on me so check out their posts about those. We're back on track now though and...
