RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Custom trailers behind our campers

My current project. After going full-time in the FWC, I needed a closet and some maneuver room while it's stormy outside. I'm currently in SoCal though, so not too often an issue. I do appreciate the extra storage and leaving the FWC for the real adventures with something to come back home to...

This is exactly the setup I have - no issues.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West SketchUp drawings?

I'm trying to build a good little collection of things that I need to arrange and work into the re-design somehow. It is easier to use sketch up than it is to remove the cabinetry or lug around a 50# fridge! This one, the fridge is rough but there is good detail in the slide. Dimensions are...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Picking Up Hawk...Advice On Delivery?

After they go through the typical checklist, get a good lesson on the water system and how to not mess up the hot water heater. It took me a little bit of playing with the valves before I was confident. Most everything else just comes down to you having/developing your own system for setting...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West SketchUp drawings?

Like the others said, it's great - I love it. A good solid program and it's free. Definitely sufficient enough for the average person's needs. A bit tedious, but pretty great for planning/fitting future mods without tearing everything apart.

We have a LOT of FWCs in the Carlsbad / Oceanside area. We should all get together one of these days and grab a beer or something!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fair Price for Used FWC Hawk

There's no way I'd let my Hawk go for that much. As long as it suits what you are looking for, I'd say 15k is a steal!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 4th Annual SoCal FWC Owners Rally - Oct 23rd-25th - We had a great time.

I would defer to the pros for a final answer, but my guess is that a beer or two would get you a long way...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How are Four Wheel Campers Mounted?

Well, I've got two out of two mounts that look just like that. Maybe it's my right foot that is the problem (gas pedal). No biggie, it's fixed now.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How are Four Wheel Campers Mounted?

Here's an example of how NOT to mount it. As my dealer used that as a mount point, I didn't really question it. In all fairness, I have had the camper on since purchase and have taken some pretty sweet jumps :). Putting in new eye bolts now...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Water heater and propane pressure

I do open it all the way - still takes a little time to get the propane all the way over to the water heater though. I was using the stove trick just like you explained before figuring this out. I disconnect the propane and close the tank valve for travel, but I don't have a refrigerator that...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Water heater and propane pressure

I had a similar experience because I was only hooking up the bottle and turning it on right before I needed it. One day I was reading through the manual and there it was: "Wait a few minutes before turning on any propane appliances inside or outside the camper. This will allow the pressure...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Finch Shell Model Solar Question

that's right. The red/black wires in the pic labeled "rear wall" are connected directly to the battery. Those ones are just a straight shot from the plug on the back.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Finch Shell Model Solar Question

Because you have the controller built-in (like I do), you just have to connect "rear wall" to your battery. There shouldn't be anything needed between your solar controller and the battery.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Finch Shell Model Solar Question

Did you have a battery installed with wiring from FWC? If not, I ASSUME that one of the coils would go to the relay or controller they use. The solar plug wires are bundled together and are labeled, as you stated, 'rear wall' and 'roof' (see pic). I have panels with a built-in controller...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hello, Ultra Breeze & Other Ventilation Questions..

+1. They are under the dinette seats and are not really viable options for what you're looking for. But as others have already stated, between the vents, fans, windows, and turnbuckle doors, there is plenty of airflow. Best advice I got while shopping for my FWC: If you're going to want it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 3rd Annual Four Wheel Camper NoCal Factory Rally April 24th - 26th --- check back for updates

In order to break up my trip up to the rally, I'll be stopping at Yosemite the nights of the 22nd and 23rd. Why am I telling you all this? Well, it just so happens that it is damn near impossible to get a spot at one of the campgrounds and I have two. I only need one. I'd sure hate to see...
