RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hallmark Cuchura 2007

The brass ell will go into another piece of PEX like the other end is fastened too. Think of it like a joint simply connecting two pieces of tubing. On the Hallmark I had in that lower compartment where Hallmark had shut off values for water line drains and ells like that that ran down through...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hallmark Cuchura 2007

It does not fit into a receiver and does not require "O" ring. That is a standard brass ell that is secured into PEX tubing with a stainless steel clinch band. The tubing in the picture is the ell being held on with a clinch band. Hallmark used that type of material in the water lines including...

Can you shoot a couple pictures of what is inside that bay? That ell fitting connects to another PEX water line and the line that came off should still have the stainless steel pinch band on it. It has to be right there.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Removing Air Conditioner from 96 8' CO

All standard rooftop ACs use the same size opening as all standard roof vents. Most of the truck campers don't have 12 VDC at the AC unit which would pose a challenge for a power vent. Really not much work to pull an AC unit and drop in a vent.

This also has been my experience. Having owned an older model, I was less enchanted with Hallmark quality than some, but when I went to sell it, good Lord. It was gone in 24 hours at close to book price and I could have sold it twice in that time.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West cutting siding for fridge vents

Had to do it a couple of times when RV manufacturers "forgot" to cut in roof vent. Yes, I carefully used a jig saw and a fine toothed blade. You can X the rubber at the opening, but it is more difficult to do when the rubber is already glued down. The flange on the roof vent is about an inch so...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dometic fridge parts

For what it's worth, when I had to work on appliances or systems that were no longer in production I searched the Internet, sometimes for hours. eBay was probably my most valuable resource, but sometimes I ran across others and for some parts even though the appliance is out of production, parts...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Dometic RM 2193 stopped cooling under propane

Give it a chance first. I have been down this road so many times with customers before. A fridge needs three things on propane, fuel for heat, level for efficiency, and unrestricted vent for heat transfer. These fridges are incredibly basic. The simplest way to clean the burner is to simply...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Dometic RM 2193 stopped cooling under propane

If you have good pressure and flame, which it sounds like you do, there’s is nothing else to troubleshoot. Did you by chance have your flame blow out unwithout knowing it? If that happened there is not a darn thing you can but wait. You should be able to feel heat on the stack(right side and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Dometic RM 2193 stopped cooling under propane

If you have flame and hot stack possibly dirty burner or low pressure from regulator. How does your cooktop flame look or how does your water heater sound? It is staying lit after ignition right so thermocouple is good. DC operation is just a “sustainer” it won’t do jack to drop the temp in...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shore Power from Truck?

If what you have in mind is something like a laptop computer, all it takes is a cheapie in the 12 VDC plug in the truck, which is what I do. When we camp, if near a TV signal, I use the same innverter in the truck camper for our little 16" Pyle flat screen. In the olden days almost nothing...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West hard side camper like to drive? (cross winds, handling)

I'm sure this topic will generate a lot of interesting discussion. For starters, what are you actually going to do with your camper? If you intend to spend a lot of time away from the maddening crowds I think a pop-up wins hands down (my opinion). We are in the process of prepping our Hallmark...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New FWC hawk furnace not working in cold

The board turns the fan on which in turn closes the sail switch and runs through the high limit cut out to complete the circuit to the board telling the board it is okay to go to ignition. If both those switches are not closed the board will not go to ignition because it is being told either air...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2020 Ford F350 - XLT or Lariat / options guidance?

Man I have the biggest heaviest Fab Fours you can get on the front and my front end will still beat you up. I have my CAT slips and putting the truck camper on the truck and fully loaded adds a little to the front end so I am guessing the added weight is much less than a plow, but it does make...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New FWC hawk furnace not working in cold

Furnace should work down to well below 12 VDC. It is normally very easy to hear fan running slowly due to low voltage. Suggest thermo cut-out that protects against over temperature is weak. Atwood has traditionally had a problem with the relay opening at too low a temperature. I used to replace...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2018 Palomino SS550

Having worked on RVs for decades professionally the one thing I can say is there is "perfect" camper nor manufacturer. They can all be fun and they can all have a bad day and make you want to tear your hair out. Maintain your rig and it may well outlive you no matter how it is constructed. I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2020 Ford F350 - XLT or Lariat / options guidance?

Man, I think "what to buy" choices often have much more to do with "wants" than "have-to-haves". I have a 2012 XLT Super Cab. Having worked as a tech for decades, add-on electronics just mean trouble so my truck is pretty basic. Electric windows and mirrors for sure, driver's seat, cruise, good...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Plugging into AC for Extended Time

Because there haven't been any made without a float since about the early 90s giving this question a good guess. I can't recall the exact year when manufacturers switched from the old transformers to "switch mode" design, but it was about that time. Put a meter on your battery and you will see...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West False Propane Alarm

When the propane detector died in my truck camper it would be fine for days and then I would go out to the camper and find it sounding an alert. Totally unpredictable but quickly solved with a new detector. If the alert is sounding randomly, it can be difficult to tease out. Same problem with...
