RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BedRug Liner Under A FWC?

I'm skeptical about this statement also. I know for certain the bumpers on my Grandby are touching and tight against the front wall of my truck. I also know by settlement marks on my tailgate that is doesn't move and is in the correct position when loaded. I can also tell my camper doesn't...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper Install By Laser

Really complicated for something relatively simple. I line up the jack legs in my mirrors so the rears are blocked evenly by the fronts. Centers the truck every time and I have less than an inch clearance on either side.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Beadlock Wheels

Unless you're running really low tire pressures and doing stuff to flex the side walls to the extremes, it would be hard for me to justify the expense and additional complexity.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West TV In Your Camper?

No TV for us and I've found I can get then news we driving home. We have a 7 year old son. We do take an iPad and of course our phones. The iPad has ebooks for me and a few games. We play cards and board games. The goal is to keep it simple.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BedRug Liner Under A FWC?

x2 I think you need a solid non-skid surface for the camper to sit on. I have a spray-in liner only. The bed drain well and my camper doesn't move.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BedRug Liner Under A FWC?

Last winter Christmas/New Years we were in Death Valley with most nights at or around freezing. The coldest night was 8 degrees. As a note, our heater was intermittently working and didn't work at all on the coldest night. Does FWC brush Skid Guard on or use the plywood instead now? All I...

I did the same thing, room for expansion.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West First Trip/Maiden Voyage - Where was it?

We picked our Grandby up on December 21st and the first night was in Cottonwood campground in Joshua Tree NP on the 26th. We spent the next 9 days exploring the Mule Mountain / Houser Geode Bed area with a night in the Cornsprings campground.

Doubts about this group began to surface awhile ago. The name sounds better than their results.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Diesel Fuel

Knowing that about 20% of gas stations carry diesel makes me more aware of when to stop and have never come close to running out of fuel (knock of wood). Fuel range on my truck is 450 to 550 miles.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New hawks need info on shower gray H2O dispersal/ travel routes etc.

For the shower we either put a tarp down or one of the front floor mats from the truck. We also carry a couple of 20 gallon plastic containers. They can also be used if your really worried about water on the ground near the camper. If the outside air temp is freezing make sure you remove the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What year did FWC start switching to gray pop up vinyl?

A quick call to FWC would answer this question definitively, or email.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Last minute wiring advice?

Go with the standard install. Everyone has their opinion and the others that don't "know" as much wring their hands and worry. Don't fix a problem that may or may not exist. The output of your alternator is more important than going to a bigger wire.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Exterior Gas Strut Roof Lift Assists

I called SUSPA with the p/n for my 60# strut and asked what were the equivalent 80# and 100# struts. I was able to purchase from Amazon.

Yes, but I have interior struts. Personally don't think I'd like them on the outside.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Intermittent heater issue

We had a similar if not the same issue last winter. It would light intermittently. Resetting it and jiggling wires a little would sometimes get it to light but once it shutdown, it usually wouldn't relight. For us it turned out the be a bad circuit board. Works fine now.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Screws backing out

FWC uses silaprene because it seals but doesn't make removal difficult and is relatively easy to clean off of a surface. They'll sell you a tube or you can ask which one they use and buy it online.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Are Atwood Furnaces Reliable?

Our is 3 years old and had to have the circuit board replaced this past winter. Not an inexpensive job. Other than that it's worked well. I pre-flight my camper before each trip and turn on and run all systems to make sure everything works before leaving home.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Which thermometer for fridge?

We experience the same outside temperature variations, camping as low as 8 degrees to as high as 110. We use a $5 analog thermometer that hangs from the top shelf and only check the temp when getting something. I've found setting the fridge, Dometic 110L, at 5 pretty much keeps it where it...

I'm curious as to why some are feeling the need to monitor the temperature of their compressor refrigerators so closely?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Improving Unloaded Ride in New Truck

I have the 3500 HD and it's stiffer than the 2500 especially when new. I noticed the last time the camper was off, the ride had softened a little. Not nearly as harsh as I remembered. I would leave the camper in for awhile first and as Alley Cat suggested lowering the tire pressure when the...
