General Grabbers A/T2 They are fantastic and have great reviews and longevity. I have a 2wd Tacoma and I'm getting places that were previously impossible with my Michelin AS tires.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Running heavier wire for solar panels

I have a 2007 Eagle and apparently, it is not prewired for a panel on the roof. I'm getting a 100 watt Renogy kit and plan to attach it to the roof. I'm not worried about the attachment, but where to run the wiring intermally, down to the the battery box. I'll install the solar controller there...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Eagle Ice Box, in OC

Sorry for any confusion. Some call it a cooler but i believe it was advertised by FWC as an "icebox" and is what comes with the camper. Nothin special but might come in handy to someone with the empty shell.

That rocks! I think I'm going with aluminum. How thick is the sheeting?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West raising the roof.

My son and I surf/camp a lot and leave the boards on the roof at night so they won't get stolen. These are longboards on Yakima racks with Rhino Racks to lock down the boards. I'm guessing there is an extra 60 lbs up there and needless to say, it takes both of us to pop the roof. I think might...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC mattress update

Yeah, what's up with that cheap foam in our Eagles? We've been using our Thermarests since the first night. I didn't realize so many owners were having the same problems. That's the only negative we've had. Everything else is great.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Step for FWC

How to do it: Buy the ladder, a piece of 1"x 1/8 x 4' steel stock, some 7/8 rubber end caps( you know, rubber cane tip dealies), and 2, 1/4" x 1 1/2" flat head bolts plus, washers, 1 ock nuts, and one wing nut and lock washer. All this is at HD and costs another $10.00 or so. Cut off all the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Step for FWC

I got tired of jumping the last 18'-24' from my folding step to the camper and vice versa. My wife has a bad hip and it was really bothering her so I decided to find something different. I looked at all of the camper stairs online and the one that caught my eye was the "Glow Step". It is a rack...

Flyfisher You are right about the liability issue. I wouldn't want my mod hurting someone or causing damage.

Thanks Alley-kat That's good, helpful info. Since the sign plastic is often so thin now, I'll be forced to laminate a bunch. I saw a large deflector online made from sheet aluminum. Very easy to work with and stands up to the wind. Thanks

Alley-Kat Is that sign material PVC? A friend works at a sign place and he thinks its from 6mm sheeted PVC. Is that rigid/strong enough to make a larger one to sit on a rack? If not, I could laminate two sheets together to beef it up. What do you think?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Nother Camper Mod

Wow, that's a great deflector. Your other mods are nice as well. I'm thinking of your aluminum idea or 6mm Sheeted PVC. More research to do......

Bill I found some 1/4" thick poly carb at Home Depot and someone that knows how to cut it. If you go with 1/4 or 3/8s thick, the polycarbonate and plexyglass sheets cut well and should work ok. The problem for me is the cost: 116.00 for a sheet big enough to do the job. Ive worked with the...

Plexiglass I'm getting pricing from local plastic suppliers for plexiglass that would do the job while bracketed to a roof rack that I already have. It's 135-150$ for a 1/4 or 3/8" piece big enough to do the job. On my Eagle that's 53" x 20". You have to buy a 4x8' sheet if they don't have...

Billharr Where did you get your wind wing? I checked online and didn't see anything like it. It looks like a great item for the job.
