RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mechanically raise top

I have the one mentioned above and I got it via Amazon, though it might have come from one of the big music equipment vendors. You might also look into the anti load shift bars sold for pickup trucks. I have not used one but they expand across the width of the pickuybed with a ratcheting jack...

I have a 2015 Raven shell on my F150. Look forward to your mods.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West camper batteries

If you are driving your truck regularly between those camping trips, your trucks alternator should be charging your FWC battery as you drive. The charging system is designed to keep your truck battery charged, then send current to the FWC to keep it charged. You can buy a small device to check...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Single burner propane stove ideas

JetBoil HalfGen. Controls work well so you can achieve a simmer. Just about any pan can fit on it, including a discada. Here's mine (on a glass table, canister hanging below).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 4' x 8' Camper Dolly with tow hitch

Are the exact dimensions 4' x 8' ? I've got at Four Wheel Camper Raven. Might work, have to measure. I'm in Fort Collins so I'd have to figure out how to get it over the Rocky Mountains.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Raven to look at around Denver

I have a 2015 Raven shell in Fort Collins that I bought used last year. Haven't done many mods other than adding a house battery and a Fantastic fan and a support for a plywood piece which runs across the cabinetry so I can have a "downstairs bed." Worked great for me and a buddy on a 2 week...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air movement

This little fan came from Amazon and has two swivel heads, as I sometimes have someone sleeping in the "downstairs bedroom" of my Raven shell. It is just ball-bungee'd to the lifting panel so I can move it around in the camper, as needed. I have not put it on a meter to gauge the draw but did...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anybody using Discada, Carolina Cooker, Tembo Tusk Skottle, etc

There are indeed many ways to cook and many choices for stoves, etc. I'm not to sure I would trust myself with a wok with boiling hot oil atop that Coleman burner, especially since wok cooking usually involves a lot of action with a wok spatula, stirring everything and flipping ingredients in...

Now that's clever! Those towels are good for wiping off condensation so you could easily keep some up in the bed area.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Good Article on the Necessity of a Fridge

Is this the Tri-Metric being discussed by Chadx? Seems like a good idea as his experience is very positive. I'm just thinking about future purchases in the event a fridge finds its way into my Raven. Looking at a Dometic CFX28 12v Electric Powered Cooler, Fridge Freezer, currently $605 on...

Got a link to an online photo gallery? Google photos, etc? That works too (I agree about the photo uploader here. I have to resize most of my photos in order to upload them.)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Small simple solar setup for Raven shell, Goal Zero portable panels

Goal Zero holding up so far. May add a simple 12v cig plug socket to the battery posts. I've got a few of those small cig plug USB adapters that would allow charging USB items off the house battery and a small 12v fan that has the cig plug. KISS principle. At least for now. I'm a slow learner. :P

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cooking? I'm on VACATION!

Dehydrated meals, dehydrated soup mixes (look on Amazon for a nice big, assorted box of soups. Tasty), can o' beans or Dinty Moore stew and lotsa mixed nuts and good granola are my go to's for no mess meals. I have my coffee routing oriented around my JetBoil (which is the fastest way to get...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Small simple solar setup for Raven shell, Goal Zero portable panels

I thought I would post the inaugural test of my Goal Zero charging system for my 2015 FWC Raven shell. The shell was pre-wired but had no house battery so Nathan's RV of Fort Collins installed an Interstate sealed, deep cycle, 75 amp hour battery and a powered Fantastic fan, a "key off"...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Noob Solar help!

Just to update my own n00b mods, I found my local RV repair shop knew exactly what I wanted and did a great job installing a house battery in my Raven shell, which is isolated from the truck battery when the key is off and which now powers a newly installed Fantastic Fan, with 2 way air...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Noob Solar help!

I'm in the same boat as the OP only I don't even have a house battery, or isolator. I'd like to get it all done and add solar but Rocky Mountain FWC wants $4000 grand to do the whole enchilada (battery, isolator, Fantastic Fan, roof solar, cabinetry). That's 57% of what i paid for the shell ...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone install cargo track inside their campers?

I'm following this topic but have been thinking about this as I have a shell FWC Raven with just the factory "benches" on either side. I like the ability to keep things in boxes and move them into the F150 to make room in the camper and just like the more open feel and (relative) "roominess"...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Low Cost Mods

Continuing with the cheapest mods, I bought one of the relatively expensive speaker stand jacks to use in pushing up the top. Works well for this old dude and has been discussed in other threads here on WTW. My mod is simply to store the jack by placing it between the side benches on my Raven...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Fleet awning

Nicely done Marky! That's exactly what I'd like to do for my Raven shell. Thbanks for the photos. Questions: What kind of hardware did you use for attaching the poles to the camper? Do you have a source for that hardware? Looks like it was made for this application. Any worries about attaching...
