RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Water tank 'fill' meter - what does it measure?

I use the flow meter and I'm actually impressed on how well it works... pretty accurate. As mentioned on a short trip I am able to take just 5 or 10 gals and not overload or waste water emptying when I get home.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West King Bed Upgrade size?

OK guys I'm old and my wife and I were not using the queen size extension for our Hawk. We just completed a 3 week trip and we did. As some have suggested it takes more space and the issue of tearing down each morning. We dealt with that BUT my wife id 5'4" and it was very difficult for her to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West WTB some of the Thermal liner material?

WTB some of the material... don't need a lot. I camped this weekend in hot TX sun. Was miffed at how the sun shined in the vents with only the smoked plastic cover to block it. Mentioned it to a buddy we were camping with. He has Lance slidein. His thermal kit came with 2 thermal material...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What do you leave to occupy your site?

I usually use chalk outline of wife laying on ground in setup area by hookups... and then a piece of Police boundary tape does the trick. OK I'm kidding but seeing as some of you have had issues I may pickup a marker cone or even the sign (easier to store).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fantastic Fan variable speed control

Read through this post may need to complete the mod. My question (might have missed) is the vent area above the bed wired with power from factory. My Fantastic fan is up front y my stove and that is good. Does anyone know if I can mount a fantastic fan over my bed? Many nights I wished it was...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Would you buy another fwc

I'm thinking about going to a Flatbed Currently have 2015 Hawk on my F250. Just need to convince my wife I'd need a new truck too ;) That said I am very satisfied and will stay with a popup. I am also very satisfied, after reading this, that I am not old (66) just I'm usually the oldest in the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West For Sale Composite Lift panels for FWC

Post Hi Jack :( Can or do I dare drill into the panel? I have grown accustomed to the mirror FWC mounts... but the sticky on the Velcro has given up. Can I put those little mirror holders that screw in? Maybe Gorilla glue the sticky side of velcro?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Geezer Pass acquired

I thought I was the only smart one here when my wife got her backup card ;) Oh well we are all wrong once in awhile ;) :) That said even at the new upgraded price for lifetime access it's still a deal. Until my wife got hers I did not know the pass was good at Corps of Engineer Parks too that...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Front Bumpers, Winches and Lights-Thoughts, Opinions Experience, etc.

JHanson I TOTALLY agree on that type bumper that hides the winch. I'm not even sure how he can access the freespool? I was thinking you were referring to Warns Hidden winch bumper. Mine has full access to the winch. Just not as obvious as some. It merely keeps the stock front bumper moving it...

JHanson I have Warns hidden winch bumper on my Superduty and an ARB on my Jeep. They are almost identical in access not sure what you mean? Maybe some homemade hidden winch mount does not allow access?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anybody using Discada, Carolina Cooker, Tembo Tusk Skottle, etc

I removed the adjustment screws on my Skottle and set the burner low on the steel holder. That helps a lot for me. Stitch I bet I burn better than you ;)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Diesel vs Gas Superduty's

Hope I'm not Hijacking... I'm 66 and have heard all my life... it's got a lot of miles but it's all highway miles. Are highway miles actually easier than stop and go city miles? I have a 2009 F250 6.4diesel. What do diesel's consider HIGH mileage and what would be HIGH mileage for the same truck...

Not sure if Warn makes one for your vehicle but I have the Warn Hidden winch bumper on my Super duty. I like the fact it keeps the actual bumper front of my stock look. With added fascia it's goes pretty unnoticeable :) I do not krawl my truck but it does see off road and some tough trails. I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Revisiting heavy duty trucks

I can only post that I moved from a 1/2 ton Nissan Titan 4x4 to my current 3/4 ton 2009 F250 Superduty 4x4. I will never go back to 1/2 ton for camper or towing. That said my next truck will be a 1 ton. Not sure if I will stay with Ford as I like the new Dodges but no decision yet. My 2015 Hawk...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Porta Potti. what model ?

On another note: What dropins do you all use? I had a bag I used when first bought potty and liked them... seemed to work well. Don't know or remember the brand :( Ran out and bought some Coleman ones... not near as good. Is there one specially for a porta potty or just use the RV ones I have?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Combination Deadbolt

I think I may move to a mechanical... I usually have my keys on caribiner on belt loop. However wife and I don't always get back to camper at same time... she NEVER has her keys ;) I also drive a Ford and have keypad entry to truck. So I keep a spare key for camper in my truck just in case...
