RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rollover accident - Lessons Learned in a FWC / Ranger Combination

Wow. Holy cow. Glad you are OK, and sounds like you've taken the #1 lesson from the incident. Don't let anyone else drive. Good job staying positive.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2017 Grandby - Roof leaking

Something (or many things) is/are void of sealant. I had numerous issues with leaks on my roof. Eventually, I finally just bit the bullet and pulled every single screw and all of the racks from the roof, cleaned each part with a wire wheel brush on a drill, and re-installed with 3M 4200. It was...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West All in one solar controller and monitor

It sounds like you are only running your portable when your roof panel is fully shaded. Correct? If so, you can just hook the portable up to your existing controller on an as-needed basis; as long as you are aware that you are likely to fry the controller if both panels are cranking out...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shore power not working

To clarify, you are getting power to the 120v outlet, but nothing to the 12v system, correct? If so, it's a problem with the IOTA unit. Mine died and I replaced it with a Victron charger.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Aluminum Fasteners

Use stainless and dip each fastener in a quality sealant, such as 3M or Silka, and you won't have any issues.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Seeking an image,,,Grandby on Chevy Dually 3500

I have a 2006 Grandby on a '18 GMC 3500, but it's not a dually. I would strongly recommend against the dually setup for multiple reasons, but it will work. The tailgate opening on all of the newer GM/Chevy trucks is heavily curved at the bottom corners, but the newer campers will fit. I don't...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I am starting to really dislike my camper solar

Charging voltage is going to be much higher than the battery reads once the charge has stopped. Do you have a meter in your system that gives you actual usage and charge stats? If not, that's the place to start.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tie downs

I haven't had any problems with the bolts on the camper, or the truck, but plan on replacing mine with something similar to the current-generation angle iron with hole if/when I do. I find that the turnbuckles seem loose after mounting the camper, as everything settles in. Once I re-tighten the...

The Culligan inline filter is inexpensive and works well.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Removing camper to dry out

Moisture meters are relatively inexpensive these days. If you're concerned about moisture build-up, I would recommend buying one off of Amazon and taking readings around the outside of the camper base through the access holes.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tie downs

Which "eye bolts" ? The lifting bolts on the camper? That certainly isn't the weakest link in the camper-tie-down chain. Have you broken something, or are you just trying to upgrade preemptively?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Flip Pac Popup/Cabover Camper and Bed Buildout - Fits Full Size Long Bed

FRP Flip Pac "flip over" low-profile and lightweight truck camper. This is an amazing all-around camping rig and extremely hard to find. When closed, it works just like a camper shell. Flips open in less than a minute to create a huge covered area (7+ feet of headroom) over the truck bed and a...
