RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How hard is it to replace the "Bed Board"?

Thank you all. I will take out the bedboard. Push up and take it out from below. Then push up new bedboard from below and then lay it on top of the C channel. A one piece bedboard will not fit through the door. Millions of screws!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How hard is it to replace the "Bed Board"?

Thank you. So there is no need to remove the screws for the canvas/fabric? Just remove the screws from the bedboard itself? And slide the new bedboard in from below as I think it won't fit through the door?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How hard is it to replace the "Bed Board"?

There is an Eagle nearby that has a bedboard with a crack in it. Needs replacing. I could purchase for a good price. It looks like a lot of screw removal, take out bedboard, apply sealant (3m 4200?) and then re-install. It does not look like it would be too complicated. Thoughts? What should...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fleet on 2019 Tacoma - truck bed build-up required?

I had my 2020 Fleet mounted on a 2009 Tacoma. Despite telling the dealer that it would be on the 2009 (2nd Gen) for a short period of time and it would be mounted on a 3rd Gen Tacoma, the 2020 Fleet needed 3/4" plywood risers to fit on the 3rd Gen. Just add them to the original risers that are...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Honda 1000 Generator

Anything wrong with this plan: Small (less than 2 cubic feet) freezer. Run Honda 1000 a few hours/day or when necessary to keep the freezer cold AND to make ice for a cooler. Keep meat in the freezer and take out the next days meals the day before and put in the cooler. Reasoning: The Honda...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Are Tacoma 2nd Gen and 3rd Gen FWC bed mounts the same?

But the Fleet on the 2nd Gen Tacoma will need some additional height on the floor stringers. About 1 inch? To clear the higher bed walls on the 3rd Gen Tacoma Is that about the right amount to add Stan? One inch?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Suspension upgrade options -- help me choose...

I have a Fleet shell. It will now be going on a 2021 Tacoma DCLB. The Fleet will be on for 3 months of the year. For the rest of the year I would like a stock ride.

I am thinking about Timbren's and stock suspension - similar to sumo. This will be for a new Tacoma - DCLB. Not much off-road travel if any. Just state and National Parks. Are Timbrens good enough?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Who has a new camper on order?

I have a new FWC on order. Mid May is delivery date. Any thoughts on what to look for when I pick it up? To save any warranty repairs and a 9 hour drive back to the dealer.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC on a 2013 2WD AC Tacoma - 15" tire suggestions

Hi: Thanks for the ideas. That is a great build website. The photos with your rig in the desert are beautiful. Really nice photos. I will eventually end up with a 4wd 6 Cylinder Tacoma when this truck wears out. But it does not seem to be wearing out; still solid. I should say that this is a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC on a 2013 2WD AC Tacoma - 15" tire suggestions

No off-road use. I have searched the forum and very few people post about a FWC on a 2wd Tacoma. Fleet shell, few options - about 850 pounds. Tacoma: payload rating of 1290 pounds. I will add Timbrens or Firestone Air Bags. Current size tires are 215/70/R15 load range 98 or 1653 pounds...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Question for Canadian FWC owners

Reviving this thread with a few questions: Anyone imported a FWC recently? In the last year or so? If I purchase a new FWC in the USA, it looks like the Transport Canada does not get involved because the FWC is not a vehicle? Transport Canada calls the FWC a "Slide in Camper" Is that assumption...
