RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Adding insulation into the roof

So what I ended up doing is pulling out all of the existing open cell **** foam, tracing it onto the RMAX 1'' Polyiso and using a foam cutter to cut the piece and replace. I'm about half way done. There will still be a air gap between the foam and the sheet metal roof. Ntsqd, already ahead of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Adding insulation into the roof

I believe it's open cell foam but I can give you more info later today as well as more photos if you'd like them. If I replaced this with polyiso would anyone recommend sealing it with ducting tape? I was thinking of filling in with foam but think it wouldn't work well with all the movement the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Adding insulation into the roof

Thanks for all your information Craig... super helpful and a lot more knowledge then me on the subjet. I've gone back and forth now in my mind, if I should put polyiso RMAX in place and then seal with ducting tape... and take out all the styrafoam. Or it may not be worth the effort. I use my...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Adding insulation into the roof

So I have my roof off the camper right now and getting a new one put on due to hail damage. My question is, now that I have the roof off maybe I should add a little more insulation? Right now it has the styrofoam insulation but it appears as though there is still about a 1 in gap that I can add...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lightweight Ladders for Camper-Roof Access

I'd be worried about that putting a lot of unnecessary stress on the camper to be leaning on the top part w/ so much weight.... How does it feel to you?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West USB Charger vs Inverter

I ordered a shell with no power outlets because it's super easy to add them after the fact... I added one of these guys https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0082CXEI8 and just tapped it into the existing fuse panel. Works great! and power usage is very minimal when not being used.. If you're...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Avoiding Empty Propane Tank

Why do you need to know how much is left? I always just use mine until I wake up in the night and it's cold or till it goes out cooking. Then I swap tanks... as soon as the trip is over I make sure to fill that empty tank so I basically always have a full tank on the ready.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yakima on FWC

Ah very true I got an Eagle which width is 69'' the 2 options for crossbars is 66'' or 78'' which would be to much. I think 66'' should be just about perfect.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Broke the glass on flush mount stove

So be sure when you turn the stove off, make sure that you turn it to the off position. I had though I did this instead I turned it to very low and closed the glass. About 5 minutes later the glass exploded throughout the camper. I've emailed four wheel camper but haven't heard back from them...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Thermostat warm-up

Okay I installed the new thermostat and from the initial test it works much better! After 10 minutes the new thermostat was showing what appeared to be way more accurate then the stock one. Before I turned on the heater (orig thermostat on left new on right) Then I left the heater on for 10...

Yep, and to be clear. My themostat works fine as well. Once it is up to the correct temp it works great, just takes forever to reach that temp

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Thermostat warm-up

To keep everyone updated. I slept in the 2015 Eagle last night. It was 30 in the camper. I turned the heat on for 5 or 10 minutes and it still was only at like 34. I did a reset and then it showed 43. Seems like the reset fixed it. I just ordered this thermostat...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Thermostat warm-up

I'm having this exact problem on my 2015 Eagle. So you're saying I can turn the heater on and get it up to 50 degrees. Once I have it to a warm temp.... Reset the thermostat, and it should then read the correct temperature?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Running furnace while driving?

Thanks guys. I also contacted Atwood to see what they would say. Here is their response... "It is not recommended running the furnace while driving as the effect of air pressure causes the flame to go out; sometimes it will relight while it may go into lockout as well." Ugh, "not recommended."...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Running furnace while driving?

Forgive me if this has already been asked. I couldn't find anything in a search. Does anyone run their Atwood furnace while driving? In Colorado, this could be very beneficial in the winter. When I get to where I'm going the heater runs for at least an hour and a half before shutting off. If I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Running wires in Eagle shell

Thanks Bill. Sorry, in this photo I already replaced a bunch of the screws. Previously I had all of the screws off of the propane panel and it still didn't feel like it was coming out. They don't put screws in from the bottom do they? I'm not sure what you mean about the panel by the door. Are...

I'm hoping you guys can help me run some wires in my new FWC Eagle shell. I'm trying to run some USB charging ports and can't figure out how to run the wires. From the breaker box it looks like the wires run by the propane storage. After removing all the screws I still couldn't get the lower...
