RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fresh water capacity

I've got a 2008 Eagle - it's got a 12 gallon water tank. They bumped it up to 20 a couple years after I got mine. I find the 12 works fine and will last about 3 nights for me - If I'm away from civilization longer then that I will take another 5gal jug. -Rick

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Nissan Frontier Suspension Setup

On my 2007 Frontier Nismo (earlier version of Pro 4X) with an Eagle I run E rated tires and air bags and find them very adequate. I take the camper off in the winter so like the ability to not be stiff during that time as I can let the air out of the air bags. Never felt the need for a spring...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Nissan Frontier Suspension Setup

Yes - my tires are E rated. Made an INCREDIBLE difference in sway and stability with the camper in. I tried putting more air in the stock tires to beef up the ride, but it caused uneven wearing and were still pretty squishy and swayed. The stiffer sidewalls make a big difference in stability...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Nissan Frontier Suspension Setup

I've got a 2007 NISMO Nissan Frontier King Cab with an Eagle on it. I'm running BFG KO2's. With the camper empty I run 40F/45R. With it loaded for trips I run 42/48. In my airbags I run 60psi left, 45 psi right. These are the pressures it took to bring the bed of the truck back to where it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Speaking of freezing....

When I am using my camper in shoulder seasons and haven't winterized the tank/facet, I will leave the furnace on low setting at night in the driveway with the top down and the cabinet door open to prevent water freezing. I do this when the nights are getting pretty cold. Doesn't run too often...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Nissan Frontier - New to Fourm- Supension Upgrades Needed

I've got a 2007 Nismo King Cab. Went with air bags and E rated times - BFG KO2. No other changes. That has worked well for the 8 yrs I have had my Eagle on it. The E rated tires make a huge difference - much less sway and a lot more stable. Air bags are nice as I take the camper off during...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fleet/Tacoma Rear Bumper?

I put this hitch step in my rear hitch - it is kind of like a mini bumper extending some protection for the camper. I am on my 3rd one - the first I did back into a post and it protected the camper, the second took a hit on a sharp 4wd road incline - take it out if the road has steep...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone using an inReach 2-way Satellite Communicator?

I've got the new Explorer+ and while I haven't held the old one, this seems much nicer from looking at pics of the older models. Very comfortable to hold in the hand. The user interface is nice once you get used to it and quick to navigate around. The GPS works well and it comes preloaded with...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West White Pocket

Went in there in the spring of 2015 with our Frontier and Eagle. No problem. Definitely sandy, but with good tires and if you air down you should be fine. Keep your momentum up in the deep sand areas.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Eagle fridge freezes

I had a lot of trouble with my Eagle fridge - so finicky - too warm or too cold, constantly adjusting it. Finally did what bilker did, got a compressor fridge - so much nicer!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Measured FWC power use

I was reading one description where the guy used double stick tape and put the shunt on top of the battery. I just ordered the meter, shunt, and wire, so I guess I'll get to figure it all out next weekend :) Thanks to all for the great info here. I've had a 100w panel and a 68L Nova Kool DC...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Measured FWC power use

What size shunt do we need - do we need the 500A, or is the 100A enough for our systems and loads? The manual says you can use the 100 if your system uses less than 70 amps max charging or discharging. We don't use that much do we? They're close to the same price, so that's not an issue...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Back-up Camera Thread

Curious to see what others have to say on takesiteasy's comment above - is a wifi back up camera a security risk for your receiving device (phone)? Couldn't find a lot of info when I googled this, but there must be some tech types here who have some opinions. The info I found was more of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Back-up Camera Thread

Chnlisle, How does the thing work - hard to tell from the amazon page. Does it transmit a signal over wifi that your phone shows as a network to join? How then do you get the picture - do you need an app? How do you turn your unit on and off since it's wired to the battery, or is it on...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West External or Internal mounted gas struts (roof lifter thingies)?

Question on internal vs external struts. It looks like most people remove the struts once up for the internal mounts and obviously the external struts stay there all the time. Without the struts, all the pressure of the roof is on the end boards and the rivets that hold them together. As...

Was there last week - came in Sun 3/8 camped up hole in the wall, then at Teakettle jct, then down Lippencott for 3 nights at Saline hot springs (lower), then one night in Stove pipe well (nasty after Saline) then home. Amazing area and really appreciate all the info on this site for the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mounting a 4wheel camper in a Nissan Frontier 05-2014

2007 Frontier and 2008 Eagle. Eye bolts and turnbuckles installed by the factory. Works great. Doesn't need the mod like the Tacoma. Has been on lots of rough roads and no problems. Just need to check the turnbuckles once and a while.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Gray Water disposal

I use something similar that came with the camper when I got it in the "ready to go" kit. The 5 gal container folds up and lives over the propane tank when not is use. Works great, and doesn't take up any space that is needed for other things. Have not had any problems at campgrounds.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What is this extra wire for?

The wires end in the roof at a specific location - there is a plate there where you can screw the plug into. Terry in the service dept at FWC can give you the exact measurements of where to find the wires. I had Chris at Rocky Mt FWC fish out my wires and install the plug. This link shows the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What is this extra wire for?

I think they are the solar wires. The other end terminates in the roof, or in a solar plug on the roof if you have one.
