RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fantastic fan location?

the fan will run as intake and exhaust, i preferred the standard placement over the galley area to avoid leaks over the sleeping area on the one piece roof- nothing but the fan and solar connector on the roof here. mine fan's new and quiet now. i also updated the dome to the 2 piece smoked...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fleece as soft-side insulation?

wouldn't the solution to condensation best be handled by making the popup canvas from a breathable fabric like reinforced wader fabric? ... maybe a simple covering over the window screens for the two cabover bedroom windows ?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Is solar worth it?

here's how I reasoned my solar system: the solar panels need to be matched to the battery size which should be matched to the daily demand (or multiple of) the limiting factors are battery dimensions and roof square footage. a size GC12 battery is about tops for a pair of 12 volts, 6 volts...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Opened Turnbuckles

great point Lighthawk! i've been considering upgrading the turnbuckles from 5/16" to 3/8" stock and may just reconsider this after reading this post. the turnbuckles are a better failure point than the camper or bed mounts and well engineered then I must say to the FWC crew

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Removing Yakima tracks and current solar panel from one piece roof

do the panels your talking about doing this with have junction boxes on the front or back of the panels? flexible panels installed directly on the roof would seal the holes from the racks and be more secure aerodynamicaly

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Is solar worth it?

this sounds like an electrical drain (short) somewhere in the wiring systems. maybe test all the 12v circuit breaker fuse taps for continuity to ground shorts with an audible voltmeter. the house battery Ah total maybe too small for the daily loads to recover from deep discharge to full...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Question about tie downs for FWC

here's where my tiedowns are in my 2006 silverado 6.5' bed. about 45deg forward and back to cover braking and accelaration forces and then to the side to clear the bed. my e-tracks were in prior to the tiedowns and didn't interfere with the factory backing plates.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Isotherm Cruise EL65 Fridge

not factory installed, would make more sense but the install went smooth with the pre marked locations to drill the holes on the elegance line. (i'd put a coldplate ASU model on my spaceship) i'll take the extra 100watts with an mppt and smart controller and contemplate the cost later...! roof...
