RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rate my dolly

Same here. Six inch hard plastic rimmed, locking, swivel casters rated for the weight plus reserve capacity. Pneumatic wheels would roll over the gap better but I couldn't find any with the weight capacity. I had a 2 1/2 to 3 inch gap. I put 1 x 2's in the gap where the caster went and rolled...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Upgrading 2004 Tacoma truck

I have a 2004 Tundra V8 (4.7L) with a 2015 Fleet. I've towed two 4 wheelers on an aluminum trailer without problems but the truck definitely slows down going up long hills. The 5.7L V8 on the new Tundras should have plenty of power even though snowmachines are a little heavier than (my) 4...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Privacy Flaps on homemade vinyl sidewall - necessary?

Aren't the elastic cords that pull in the flexible panels during closing attached to D rings sewn onto the "privacy flap"? I don't think the vinyl window fabric would be durable enough for that.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper Rain Gutters Anyone?

FWC suggested vinyl drip rails similar to these: https://www.brandsport.com/trmg-wrt02-01.html?cmp=fwgs2011&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIx-aK-JOK2QIVk1uGCh2KgwbZEAQYAiABEgKAPPD_BwE. The adhesive is still holding after about a year. I put the drip rails on the roof, with the "gutter" facing the rear...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air bag and tire pressure

I have a 2004 Tundra with 2015 FWC Fleet. I've had the Fleet on (and off) the truck for about 2 years. I'm still going through ride/suspension upgrades but I think I'm fairly stable in my current config. Ride Rites w/ independent air lines, Bilstein 5100's front & rear, E rated BFG AT KO2's.The...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West White Rogers to ICM Thermostat

A question for those who have replaced their stock White Rogers thermostats with the ICM garage thermostat. How did you wire it? In my FWC, the White Rogers (WR) has one wire to the W terminal and one wire to the RC terminal with a red jumper wire from the RC to RH terminals. Referring to the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West thermal pack

I read that about two layers but didn't investigate further to see how much air space is enough for better insulating between the two layers. Should be easy to add some kind of spacers (thin strips of Reflectix?) to create a few millimeters of air space, much thicker spacers may be too bulky for...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West thermal pack

I used the Arctic Pack in my Fleet a few times but decided to remove it. Much easier to wipe up condensation without the extra layer. Considering a Reflectix layer (or two) for the outside. Light weight and hopefully no more difficult to install and remove than heavier inside insulating layers.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone using a hitch cargo carrier ?

I bought one of the flip-up cargo racks last year at Cabela's. Worked as expected in the cargo carry position (horizontal). First time I drove with it vertical, I thought my truck was coming apart. It made so much wind noise I stopped the truck to check. After that, I left it horizontal even...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West removing one seat from dinette

Hi Leslie, We have a side dinette Fleet and we would get a front dinette if we bought again. However, for us, the narrow entry is only a problem before we pop the top. With the top up, we just turn a little sideways after we enter. Before you remove the seat and storage box underneath, have you...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Screens for hatch covers +

Here's the photo (I hope). Since the bottom vent opens, I cut the screen a little large and temporarily held it in place with the door. When I got home I used aluminum tape to hold it in place inside the vent door.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Screens for hatch covers +

XJINTX, I can't access the camper to take photos now, it's stored for the winter. I have a photo of the outside vents but haven't figured out how to post a photo. Basically, I removed the vent covers, fitted and folded the screen so it didn't extend past the edge of the vents and re-attached...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West High Altitude Condensation with CPAP Machine

My wife uses a CPAP and has has rainout problems. We use rigid pipe foam insulation on the length of hose from the CPAP to the bed and tuck the rest of the hose under the covers. She also turns the humidifier down or off depending on temps.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Screens for hatch covers +

Driving through British Columbia in early June I was attached by hoards of mosquitoes inside the camper. The bugs were coming into the Fleet through the spaces around the fridge. I installed screen on both frig. vents. I used aluminum screen, cut a little large and folded over for a better...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bilstein 5100's for 2000-2006 Tundra Discontinued?

Amazon still lists them too. Maybe current inventory is all that's left. I checked Bilstein's web site and, for my truck, they list front and rear 4600 shocks and only the rear 5100. I searched for the front part number (24-188265) and Bilstein shows '0 products'.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bilstein 5100's for 2000-2006 Tundra Discontinued?

New member here. Thought I'd pass this info on. Sorry if it's old info. Based in part on postings on WTW, I ordered Bilstein 5100's for the front of my '04 Tundra on 29 July. Just got them today. I was told by the auto shop (O'Reilly's) that it took so long to get them because 5100's and 4600's...
