RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West So I think my ZAMP controller is trying to tell me something (but I don't understand)

Check polarity i found the wiring on my two panels were reversed regarding marked wires The panel will have a small diode in the small box on the back of the panel. I've heard in many cases you can just replace that and be back up running again. My little 10watt Renogy panels 2 tied into a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Chasing Abbey - Road Trip through Utah

Sounds like a great trip. I thought your question about a hatch vs fan over the bed was interesting. I have wondered for a long time why I dont see more marine hatches and wind hood/scoops on campers? You can probably find a marine hatch that will fit the standard vent size, most hatches can be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Umm, how much weight can it take?

If anyone finds a rear camper wall and attached gear laying in the road ^ this would be the first guy I try to find. Lol truck is probably ok. Back wall of a camper might pop right off though. I'm thinking when you reach that level of needed gear space a small enclosed trailer is a nice option.

25mpg with the camper!! Dang Buckland your not going to think about range limitations anymore. That air deflector, can you access it from inside the camper or is there a side access you pull gear from via outside access? Looks good.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West GMC Tailgate with Camera Removal for FWC

I think they all feed the same video format, so you should be ok. But its hard to know for sure these days. Lots of formats out there today. But most of the small micro cameras all use the same format.

Bill Subarus are famous for exhaust shield rattles. Its also considered the most trusted Auto company today. LOL. All the things GM did are typical things we see Subaru owners do. Or many simply let them fall off and bingo no more rattle. I wouldnt consider that a brand specific issue. Now the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Spring 2016 Lots of Crayons

I use to drive the old truck on our trips with dad. My first miles were on logging roads getting to and from the trail head. Big week or two week back country trips. It was nerve wracking trying to keep a E250 van from chattering, bouncing off the road, that thing drove horribly. Ha ha.. I'm...

Mehh.. Does it matter? I bet auto makers have a wider "acceptable error range" than that.

Dealer is blowing smoke up your back side. As long as your running stock sized tires and the same model tire on all four corners your fine. There are "computer" changes for larger tires, but I dont see that happening. I think the dealer is trying to skip out on the last part of the deal to pad...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Diesel Trucks and the use of DEF

DS thats interesting. I wonder if just a spring pack upgrade on the rear end for those going full time camper mode? The LB wheel base is it longer than the SB? I wonder if that would change how it squats with the same load? Cool stuff.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Load range C or E ?

The michelins are generally pretty decent but they do have softer side walls. Toyota likes to put them on the larger trucks for quiet smooth highway ride quality. And long wear. But... Sidewalls are a tad soft. My Sequoia had them too. Good tire but a little tender on the side walls. I always...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Project Shoal Nevada - April 2016

My wife grew up in eastern WA. She remembers her town being packed up and abandonded after a oopsie mistake during the Atomic Bomb development days. Her dad was a engineer and managed the building of one of the reactors in the tri cities area. He went on to be head of reactor maint for Detroit...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Load range C or E ?

The cooper tires havent been a favorite with the heavy overlander types. Seems like most people have migrated back to BFG due to too many flats with the coopers. I like the coopers for the lighter suvs but I havent seen a single good report about them from people doing big trips in heavier vehicles.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ram trucks, payload, suspension, and off-road ability

Which case I'm thinking sell Subaru and Sequoia and get a new Canyon 2.8 to handle both aspects, kid daily transport, and give us the added load capacity the Sequioa offered on the rare cases we needed it.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ram trucks, payload, suspension, and off-road ability

We only use the Sequoia for camping and road trips when we have 5+ seats to fill which case is near zero as grand parents hit the point they arent into camping anymore. We lost one local grand parent last month, he drove the Sequoia more than I did doing kids shuttle stuff. I dont think we'll...

As my kids 4 and 7 are able to go MT Biking with Mom and dad I can see us just pushing the the load capacity on the Subaru too far. But our current set up the Subaru has proven to be really good as long as its just us 4 and the occasional dog. But we dont have added capacity for bigger heavier...

Carl I'm in a similar situation. 2 kids and use to own a cherry 93 LC. We upgraded for space, comfort and modern safety gear to the 07 Sequoia. That and we had till just recently a local grand parent that went almost everywere with us so seating space was needed. Our typical camping set up is...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Diesel Trucks and the use of DEF

Buckland I've been snooping the 2.8 forums. The one thing yhat seems to be a surprise is the dealers are not filling the DEF tank when you pick up the truck. So many people are getting a low DEF warning / surprise shortly down the road.
