RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West to regear or supercharger?

Re-think using low range in sand - looks like your transfer case is 2.57:1, meaning 3rd gear in low range is roughly equivalent to 1st gear high range (assuming 6 speed manual). In low range you'll effectively have a much tighter ratio gear range, and there won't be the big drop in RPMs between...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yakima Tracks

I found this looking for parts for a similar project, source for the threaded nuts that the yakima tower bases mount to. http://parts.orsracksdirect.com/yakima/part/8810074-yakima-rpl-anchor-plate-a-replacement-spare-parts.html

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Looking for Eastern Sierra Fishing Spot

Virginia Lakes are a nice high elevation spot, and there is dry camping along some of the roads that loop back towards 395 off of the main road up to the lakes. Fishing is supposed to be decent there, although I had no luck. We were there right after 4th of July last year, and the high elevation...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yakima Track Tower compatability

I went through this recently, here's what I found out: Railrider 1 are meant to be used with the Yakima Tracks, they have a t-nut that slides into the track and a flat base. Railrider 2 and 3 are for OEM tracks on some jeeps, etc and won't have the correct base to mount to the yakima tracks...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Going to Flagstaff I-40 from Ventura

Funny to come across this thread, we're heading out on Friday to Sedona for about a week (from Ventura). We've got to drop off the pooch with the in-laws in Banning, so our route will need to include I-10, but I'm planning to take I-60 to I-71 to I-89 through Prescott and Cottonwood. Weather is...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Yakima Roof Racks

They do make them longer, I have a pair of 72" long tracks waiting to get mounted on my camper shell.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West central coast / big sur suggestions for this weekend

Just a heads up on Montana De Oro, they do not allow dogs on beaches or trails, dogs are allowed on leash in campground and on paved roads only. Major bummer for us since we always have our pup with us when we head up to that area, so we've never actually been there. As mentioned Fiscalini is a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ARE truck caps

I gotta say I really like having the tailgate on the truck, makes a great work surface for cooking up a quick lunch, a spot to sit and put on my boots in the morning, etc. Plus the nice thing about a camper shell is I can still use my truck as a truck instead of just a dedicated camper.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ARE truck caps

Hey a topic on here I can actually contribute to! I have an ARE V series shell on my '12 Tundra. From my research the construction and quality of ARE and Snugtop were very comparable, but ARE had a few features that sold me: Vented Windoors - I've got a dog that rides in the back quite a bit...
