that is so good. my wife the editor got a good laugh out of that. of course, she said the wench could just be in charge of everything too.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Is my All Terrain Ocelot considered hard sided or not.

We have never had any questions on whether hard or soft sided but then we rarely stay in campgrounds. If you really want to improve your security get one of these: https://bearwatchsystems.com/ This (or systems like it) is what we commonly used in wilderness and other areas in griz country for...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dealer Gives Our Truck Away

yep, did think about that too - but not worried since i drive it pretty easily. And the only reason we had it in the dealer is was for the last "free" warranty work at 25K. there is another shop in Missoula - called Master Tech Toyotas Only that is the go to shop for anything Toyota that we...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Would like any feedback on pricing for used ATC Ocelot, 2021

we sold our 2013 Ocelot with not near the stuff you have for $11K last year. So looks like your price is pretty good.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What walkie talkie sets do you use?

We have been using 5 watt marine GMRS radios for years and they are cheap and dependable, water resistant and easy to use. Plus you get the weather on them even inland.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dealer Gives Our Truck Away

yes it was another dealer with another "white truck with a camper". The dealer did fill the tank (no brainer) and did not charge for some extra work we had done (truck was in for the 25K warranty). plus threw in some filters so total was about $175. we took it and did not ride them too hard.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dealer Gives Our Truck Away

Well, this is an interesting situation. Had our Tundra at the Lithia Toyota dealer in Missoula for 25K service). Apparently a driver from another dealer showed up and he took (and Lithia gave him) our truck instead of the one he was supposed to drive out of state. they did get him turned...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fridge Draining Battery

We have a 65 L Truckfridge which I put 1" foam insulation around plus the plywood sides and a storage drawer on top. I have abut 1" space underneath with large holes in the bottom plywood to allow air to flow under the fridge and up the back of the fridge where the fans are (i added a small...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Secure slide out bed

yep same idea. but have not had that occur with two different campers. I assume your bedding is not thick enough to push up a bit on the camper ceiling?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Starlink Roaming

Just spent two weeks in BC (Prince George/Quesnel/Nazko area) and Verizon worked quite well. Unlimited data (i think it was 5G for a while then dropped to 2G) but I had no difficulty in hooking up through Telus and Bell cell towers and could get all the sites and videos i needed. Did not have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Stove Replacement

we had a similar Dometic and it fell apart in less than a year - burner tube detached, grate bent under heat. Dometic refused to replace it since it was not installed by a manufacturer. I am sure others have had a better experience, but we sure did not.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West A Quick Trip to Succor Creek and Leslie Gulch

Nice trip through the area, have wanted to do the same but always end up driving past it on the way to somewhere else. Yep, flowers are Mentzelia (blazing star). Thanks for getting the campfire put out - it is a real head shaker how careless folks are. after 28 years of wildland fire, it gets...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Eureka No Bug Zone CT13

We have the Nemo bug Out tent. Fairly easy set up but do need good tent peg placements. When the bugs are bad, these are great. Also, we use a Thermacell for buggy areas which works well when it is not windy or you do not have a sheltered place...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Train Derailment

well, with all the train derailments that have occurred (this one is at least the second in MT this spring) we made the decision to not buy a house near a railroad. We are 50 miles from the nearest one and two miles and 300 vertical feet above a major highway. Paranoid or good planning?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Foot operated water pump install

That is what we have in our ATC Cougar - although we do have a sink and just need to tap the spigot to get the last bit of water out of it before traveling. Not a bit deal. Easy to empty of water for winter storage too.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Black Bears, Food and Trash

great post. having worked for the Forest Service for most of my years in grizzly country (plus black bears of course) the lack of understanding of bear food storage is still low - always having to educate the new comers. It actually is surprising how many bears avoid people and food storage...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Longer Cabover

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 12v fridge

we have a Truckfridge 65 which works fine for two people for two weeks. Although it seems lot's of folks prefer a larger fridge, we find this one just the right size. very quiet compressor so little noise and the 200 watt solar runs it even in cloudy rainy weather fine.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replace Air Bags or Not?

used airbags on a 2005 Tundra and Ocelot camper (plus a sway bar) and it worked well. Did go flat at one point and cost $125 to fix. Used a spring pack on the 21 Tundra and Cougar and feel it is better since no worries about losing air and it rides very well. Camper is on full time so that may...
