Maybe check out the Ranger for sale on this forum. It's on a T100 in Boise, but maybe he would sell the camper alone. The Ranger would fit on your Tacloma amd the extra room is nice to have.

Just a note.... I noticed once my camper looked like it was bouncing around too much, but when I checked the turnbuckles, they were fine. I checked under the truck (2000 Tacoma) and of the four bolts holding the bed on the truck, one was missing, and two were loose. Now I like to check them once...

Using a drill adaptor and a couple of saw horses, I can remove or install the camper in about 30 minutes. Inch by inch... don't hurry, and yes... it can be a little scary... especially on unlevel ground or in windy weather. Your methods seem rock solid to me.

Basically, all it needs is a new front lift panel, a door knob and some cleanup. It's got some bumps and bruises, but I've seen campers in a lot worse shape go for a lot more $$. I'll post some interior pics when I get it cleaned up....

I tried the digital route too, but most of my camping is done in the winter with temps around 10 degrees to -10F. The digital didn't work at those temps so I went back to to original equipment. I wish someone would make a digital thermostat that worked when you really need it... When it's cold!

Air bags were a pain in the butt for me. I'm much happier with Timbrens now.
