RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Solar Connector

As stated above, CHECK POLARITY of the wires labeled solar in your battery bank, they will most likely be backwards.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Portable solar setup

For what its worth, I have the Renogy 100 watt "Solar Suitcase" and even though its a bit heavy and awkard to carry around, it worked great and had everything included, controller, etc...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Forgot to latch

Yup, just last weekend in fact! Luckily caught it after only a few miles, no issues. I am going to put a little sticky on my dash when camping, like a checklist, shut off propane, check latches, bla bla bla

Wowzers.. yeah... return it... You can put together a MUCH more powerful/useful system together very easily for MUCH less than that!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Overshot the weight

Toyotas are weird like that. Unsure why. I have a 2014 Tundra with the 400hp 5.7L V8 My towing capacity is 10,000lbs My PAYLOAD capacity is only 1,200lbs (less than the Tacoma) figure that one out.... With that being said, I have yet to hear of anyone with a Tundra having issues with an FWC...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Front Dinette or Side Dinette?

I went with the front dinette for a few reasons, doesn't sound like they apply to your needs though. I am not concerned about looking out the window and such, as I am mainly outdoors. I went with the front dinette because: -Storage, it definitely had a bit more storage the than the other...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bombsight Build Thread

Yeah.... About that.... I've been offroading my entire life. Always had a winch, never used it.. Got some MaxTrax.. Never used them, but kept them with me, just because... Few months ago, was heading out to the Salton Sea for some Photography Stuff.. Looked at the MaxTrax and said "I am...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Helper springs (leaf springs?) if camper not on the truck year round

I second what DOROCKS says. If the truck is being driven without the camper often, the Firestone bags would be a lot more flexible than stiffer springs that beat you to death when unloaded. Air up when camper is on, air down when camper is off, win win. This is now my third truck with the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar positive and neg on connector

Mine was backwards to, as i found out yesterday. Luckily someone on here posted about it and i found that thread in my research. Quick test with the multimeter showed the polarity was reversed. I just cut, soldered, and flipped the plug. Good to go now!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Install on Monday! Anything I should do before camper is bolted down?

Sure thing... I have the Victron also! I got their controller and all the goodies sitting at home waiting to be installed when I get back. I’ve wired up several solar systems and happy to help. Unsure where I’m mounting it yet, I need to physically check it all out once I get home Kevin

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Small simple solar setup for Raven shell, Goal Zero portable panels

Keep your receipts for all GoalZero products!!! I've had many friends with GoalZero products have them fail within a year. Crazy because theyre probably the most expensive option out there. It seems like a 50/50 split, some have great luck, some have nothing but problems. Just a heads up, my .02

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Swift Camper, Mods, Upgrades Etc......Pic Heavy.

Excellent Clean Work! I’ve used powerlets for years on my motorcycles and dual sports. Never seen them used on a vehicle or a camper though. GREAT idea!! Yes, 10x better than “cigarette” plug for sure!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Swift Camper, Mods, Upgrades Etc......Pic Heavy.

ARBs are worth every single penny! Best mod i have done hands down. Insanely efficient compared to most! Running solely on a 100 watt panel, and a Odyssey PC2150, i havent shut my ARB off in well over a year and the battery is always tip top!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Helper Springs enough?

I prefer the fine tune ability of the air bags and this is now my 3rd truck I have them on and zero issues. No idea what Bryan means about "maintenance" there is zero when installed properly. I run old man emu with an add a leaf and the firestone bags. I prefer a stiff ride on the asphalt and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West State of Charge Monitor (Blue Sea?)

Yeah, after more research, that’s what I’ll be going with. Love the idea of being able to monitor everything from phone while in truck and not having to check inside the camper. Thanks guys
