RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2009 tacoma and 2009 eagle

The air bags should be carrying the load just fine, right? Why do you feel that it is overloaded? Stiffer shocks will reduce bounce and some body roll.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shower in a FWC?

If I do rehab a FWC. I would like to put a shower stall in it. Is there anything that is store bought that might work? Or do I need to create something myself?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Wanderer new to WTW, looking for a FWC

Welcome to WTW! Have you considered buying a shell model and building the interior to fit you needs? I have. I might want the bigger challenge of rehabbing an old one.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West POD: Homebuilt foam core fiberglass skin pop-up camper build thread

I'm guessing that you don't want anything across the top of the door opening. Even a 1"x1" tube would eliminate the spreading.

I may be taking on a project just like yours. Any regrets?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Two battery + Solar + Alternator questions...

It doesn't sound like the two camper batteries are tied, electrically, together. But... If you do have two different batteries (type, size, brand, and even down to different build lots) They will always have different charge states. These differences will cause the lower charged battery to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Roof Mounted Solar Panel Vs Honda Generator

    1) A really good high output charger and a good solar controller are invaluable. They allow the batteries to take a maximum charge and also prevent damage. I have the ProSine throttled back to 80 amps maximum charge which is a touch under the maximum Trojan recommends for my batteries. I have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West My New FWC Order!

I'm looking at rebuilding a FWC. I'll have a space toward the back for a porta potty. It'll have a draw around curtain. I'm also thinking of adding a roof vent with fan directly over this area. If you are thinking of using a potty, you may want to have one of your vents repositioned. Looks...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tacoma suspension upgrades?

The suspension on the TRD package is not going to carry the load any better than the standard. You may need to still do the air bags, add a leaf or leaf packs.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Narrow Older FWC for Modern Pickup

I have been obsessing over the planning of this project and honestly I think the most time consuming part will be moving the cabinets / wiring / plumbing in order to put back together. I think as long as there is no beer in the camper when I'm doing the work it will go very quickly. :P The...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Wanderer new to WTW, looking for a FWC

I'm new to WTW but not to wandering. I'm an avid outdoors man: camping, backpacking, wheeling, rock climbing, mountaineering, cycling and more. My wife and I love to travel. We have been doing our expeditions in my 2000 4runner but it can be a little tight. I also built a teardrop trailer but it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Narrow Older FWC for Modern Pickup

I'm looking at a couple of older FWCs that are that 64" wide (bed rail to bed rail). I would also need to do the trimming to 58" to get it to fit. This may be my next project.
