RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What's the new furnace being installed by FWC?

I think the Atwood furnace in my 2016 shell and now my 2017 front dinette Hawk are loud. I saw mention somewhere (I think) of a Propex furnace being used for European FECs. I wonder if the propex could be ordered for a US FWC and if it is quieter than the Atwood.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Inside Shower Tips?

I never used it from sun only but the bag is gray and black and gets pretty hot sitting in the sun. Once a left it sitting out with some water and when I emptied it I remember noticing that the water was pretty warm.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West First time camper owner - looking to add struts to popup

I wonder if the adjustable speaker pole is still available? I can't find the adjustable speaker stand at the guitar world link at the link provided to the video. The link is two and a half years old... Does anyone have the Brand and model number of the speaker stand? The title of the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Who's Hawk/Silver Tundra is this-AZ 2015?

I saw this Hawk/Tundra in Tucson at the end of November of 2015. It was parked at an urban trailhead. I thought it looked so unique and cool that I did an illegal uturn to get a closer look. Anyway, it cost me a lot of money to see your rig! Here we are 1.5 years later and I am on my second...

I just really like the attitude of using the full 6 gal! Suffering is for people with campers. Thx for the insight too. Happy camping!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Minimalist approach?

Pots and pans are in cabinet under stove. There is a drawer for utensils. Main food is in cabinets on passenger side of camper. With backstock of food in storage under dinette. Clothes I keep in a duffel in my truck. I either take the clothes I want for the next day out of duffel and throw on...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Critique my battery/solar setup before I purchase!

Rando, The 120 watt flexible for a portable seems like a good idea. I have a renogy 100 watt for a portable it works fine but it's a lunker. How do you store and handle the flexible panel. I guess I'm asking how flexible is it. Can you just tuck up on the bed or something and take it out and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Minimalist approach?

It seems like there is a lot of complicated monkeying around and moving parts involved in being "minimal" and "simple". In my non-minimal set up I add food and water and gas and drive and forget about the camper. What I want and have is minimal messing with the camper. No chasing ice every...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Basic NOOB camper questions

I have a 2011 Tundra with a TRD Pro suspension which is probably a little "softer" than your stock suspension. I had a new spring pack installed by Boise spring and it carries my 1400 lbs base weight FWC Hawk, loaded with water and all my gear great. That said. It is probably pushing it pretty...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Minimalist approach?

An 8 ft camper on a short bed (6-1/2 ft) puts the weight too far back. I had a loaner granby on my Tundra for a couple of weeks and it drove funky. Too much weight too far behind the rear axle...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Minimalist approach?

If I was starting with a new truck I would be very tempted to go the flat bed camper route. They are incredibly spacious. It sounds like you are going to be spending a lot time and years in it. You should at least crawl into the different models before you buy. I'm not sure where you are but a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Minimalist approach?

I took delivery of a Hawk shell model in sept 2016. A few months later I traded it in for a hawk front dinette with an inside shower. I traded the shell model for a fully optioned model so I would have a water system, inside shower, built in fridge, and cabinets. I gained a little insight from...

I have a 2011 Tundra and a 2017 Hawk which replaced my 2016 Hawk Shell. I ordered both Hawks to be built so they will fit in any truck, which means with no extra shim attached to clear the high bed walls on a Tundra. It's a "universal build". Apparently you have same. I used to have a 2x4 wood...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mounting Hawk on utility trailer

Towing a trailer with something as heavy as a FWC camper with a mid-size car sounds dangerous. You are going to have a hard time stopping and controlling the trailer around turns and if you have to swerve. I wouldn't do it. Car aren't designed to tow. You will probably fry you transmission too...

Thanks for the comments. I had a new shell model Hawk that was delivered in Sept 16. I used a Nemo shower. After taking a shower in Wyoming elk hunting in 50 mph winds in the sun in 70 degrees temps and almost freezing to death from the wind I bought a shower tent. After not being able to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cell Booster Antenna mounting

I have been using Weboost (wilson) cell boosters for about 6 years now. Started with a 3G model and now have a 4G model. I travel and hunt extensively across the southwest and Rocky Mountains. I have found the boosters to be very useful and to function very well. Hundreds of times I have been...
