RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Best ways to support the FWC off the truck?

I use the sawhorse solution but I do like PaulT's suggestion about using cut plywood...you could put the plywood in the truck bed and put the camper on top of it to transport to your remote location. Bill

I have one of those cans, but from the Scepter gas can description: "Triple handle design allows you to carry 2 cans per hand." With fuel? Ummm, not my hands. :-)

I've been twice, had a great time at both. It is worth the effort. Can't make it this year. I would like to try the one in British Columbia later this summer, similar things going on but new venue.

Here is a possibility, Griot's Garage in Tacoma near the Tacoma Mall next Sunday, an Expedition Vehicle Event. I will be there with my FWC Grandby, there could be an AT. https://www.griotsgarage.com/category/about+us/events.do Bill

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camping along the Loneliest Hwy?

I've done it a couple of times, it is lightly traveled. Just west of Austin I find the old highway (722) more interesting than the main route. There are many dispersed campsites available, I just pulled up one of the side valleys, made sure that I didn't block through traffic (there wasn't any)...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Adding Water Tank Question-- Can I do it without a pump?

Grandby shell on Tundra long bed, 12v. but no water system here. Keep it simple: 1 gallon jugs are easy to handle, can be stored in the bed, accessible through the turnbuckle access, and are cheaper than most other options. Bill

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How do you keep your Basement dry ?

As you figured out that area is not weather proof from the factory. Making this weather tight would be a chore. I store things inside the "access port" that are not hurt by water, dust, or whatever like sealed/capped water jugs, axe in a sheath, chains, canned foods (be careful to make it so...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Who's Installed an inverter?

I have a 300W inverter that I use for small device charging. It has a built in USB port. Many devices charge off of USB so I mostly use a 12V to USB for charging, it is more efficient I believe. A power off switch on any inverter is a good idea, many have substantial parasitic loss when on but...
