RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tundra and FWC Hawk

I have a 2015 double cab long bed SR5 Tundra 4x4 (GVRW 7200 lbs) with a shell Grandby and a couple of mods. With minimal camping equipment, a couple of passengers, and a little extra gas and water I go over 8100 lbs often. I knew where this was going so I sold my P tires with 50 miles on them...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Retired!

I've been retired 3 years, I feel like I am just getting to understand it. I try to do the things that must get done (pay bills, shop, change the oil in the truck, etc.) first then when I want to do something I have time and can do it. Yes, do something regular, schedule some things then enjoy...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New FWC with gas strut - not enough

I had internal struts from the factory but I changed to external 40 lb struts to my Grandby using parts previously discussed at WTW. I would be careful with more pounds of lift than that, you might reach (or go past) the strength of the attachment points. Also, I believe that someone noted the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Question on setting up my InReach

I use messages similar to Bill (above): 1 starting from here (I am up and moving, all OK) 2 enroute all OK (I use this as free breadcrumbs and post travels to create picture location log and time line) 3 stopping for night here (end of day not moving any more) I also have a connected tablet...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Newbie need help with Mounting Hard side to Tacoma

Josh: Lots of views of this thread but I'll be the first to comment, ummm. I don't think that this combination will be safe on the road. Check your vehicle gross weight limit, subtract what the truck weighs, subtract the weight of camping equipment, water fuel, and passengers, then subtract...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Buyers regret?

If your FWC of choice is a Grandby shell get the rollover in the front, that frees interior floor space. I took out the storage cabinets under the rollover, freeing the floor space, and store stuff in easily moved Action Packers as necessary. Bill

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How do you keep your batteries charged when......

As Jim does, I have a battery tender on a timer. It charges 3 hours per day. I also run a computer fan to circulate air inside the camper. That plus the draw of the CO alarm seems to average out. I guess you could think of this as the same as solar...on a few hours and off overnight. Works...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Inline fuse holder for Truck to house battery

I had tried a similar one like the Ebay tsunami model on a travel trailer battery set-up, I didn't like it. The one I had took fuses are larger in diameter and length than the glass tube automotive type common in cars prior to 1981 and they were more expensive too (type AGU I believe). I like...
