RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How to carry second spare tire?

Ok, forgive my ignorance.... Where does one find wheel studs and are they different for different trucks? Lug nuts are probably easy. Is there a standard size for the studs/bolts for the lug nuts or are they all different. Seems so simple but could be so complex. dave They make about 1000...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Furnace won't light

I've had my entire furnace out twice... Don't ask. I've got an older Atwood 8516-II so your experience may differ. All the work is done through the outside door. The hardest part in removing the burner is disconnnecting and reconnecting the gas lines. Once that is done you need a long 5/16"...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Furnace won't light

The burner can get clogged, dirty, rusty etc and not work correctly. It is a pain in the butt to remove it and check it - but that is a sure way to see it's condition and clean it or replace it.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West XV-JP overhaul from expo

Very cool idea - but for 10% of the cost (or less) I have more space, more power, better mileage, more easily modified, etc, etc, etc. Thanks FWC! Anyone know the guy that owns this thing? It has Oregon plates on it.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Pop-up hauling a ATV

Have you had the alignment on the jeep checked? Without enough caster angle on the front end the wheels will not self-center after turning - or poorly self-center. How about the angle on the tow bar to hitch? You want it to be parallel to the road - if it is angled up or down it will add some...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How to carry second spare tire?

My question to those in the know, is how do you attach the tire/wheel to the mount? I had some large bolts and nuts that came with mine.....was wondering if there is a way to use extra lug nuts as this would be a good way to store them. Not sure if there is some standard for the bolt??? Never...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How to carry second spare tire?

I have this saftey seal kit in my off-road truck: Saftey Seal big tire kit. I have used it 10 times at least. Once you get over the fact that you have to stab a tool into your tire - it is very easy to use. No cement - not 'patches' - just a reamer tool, the plug insertion tool, plugs and...

but we left the ring necks and shovelers for somebody else to enjoy . How generous... :P Looks like a good time. I have plans to use mine for very similar trips. It will be a super upgrade to sleeping in the back of my truck or in the front seat. If you even find yourself in NW Oregon -- I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How to carry second spare tire?

I'd go with a front mounted 2nd spare. that way it is always there. And if it falls off - you'll know.... You laugh - but I had the factory spare fall off from under a work truck and the only reason we 'found' it was we drove back the same way later in the day and it was in the ditch. As for...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FREE: Factory table and leg from 1993 FWC

It is free to a good home - but shipping is going to be pretty pricey as it is big... PICS: Upon taking the pics the oxidation on the table foot is much worse than I thought. I think they must have used it at the beach and put salty wet stuff on top of it. The table top looks unused...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FREE: Factory table and leg from 1993 FWC

I pulled the factory installed table, leg and base out of my 1993 FWC Grandby and do not see putting it back in. It is all in used buy usuable condition. The base has some oxidation on it and the leg has some surface rust on it. But the price is right.. This is the table that comes apart and...

If it is all about ball bearsing you'll need to be sure and take some antifreeze. 10 quarts - Quacker State. My dad live in Walnut Creek - we used to go to Mt. Diablo all the time. But have never camped there. Hmm... Maybe I should do that some time.

Marc, I didn't know you could boil those seal-a-meal bags. I may have to invest in one of those machines. A lot of commerical food at restaurants comes pre-cookesd in those seal-a-meal type packages. They just drop them in boiling water and dump it on your plate. All the bag brands I have...

Nice mini carharts! My cousin bought our boy a ridiculously expensive Patagonia fleece vest and capilene shirt that looks cool a heck but I'd never have pony'd up for it. He's going to wear the heck out of it this winter while it fits though... The carharts were a gift as well. I thought...
