RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ordering a Hawk 1-28-17 Do's Don'ts?

Have them put patches over the rivets on the front and back of the vinyl pop up. They are supposed to put caulking in the hole on the rivets but if they don't put enough the holes will cut into your top. You may not need two fans, I seldom use mine and it takes up valuable space on top that you...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Question about Front Dinette

You would have scoot out to the edge of the seat, but yes. Better to make the bed (couch) set up , then plenty of room. Either way using some back support would be helpful. Rechecked just now, plenty of room even without back support!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear Steps

I was using the Harbor Freight foot stool on unlevel ground, got in a hurry and went out of the camper frontwards instead of backwards, then stepped on the outside edge of the stool which was facing downhill, it tipped forward causing me to lose my footing and hit the bottom of the door...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Help I can't get my door to unlock

Happened to me once. I used Tri- Flow with Teflon spray and haven't had a problem since (knock on wood!). A locksmith told me it's the best lubricant, it doesn't gunk up the mechanism. Might try that and see if you get better results; otherwise a lock smith does seem like a good idea.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Grandby Charging System Question

Some good information on on this web site. It also has the "Battery State of Charge" chart. Don't let the batteries get below 40-50%. Your Zamp controller will tell you your current battery voltage. Nice thing about the 6-volt system as you probably already know is you'll get a lot more amp...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lithium Ion Batteries

I am assuming your dometic 110 is a compressor style. I have one and like you the 95 watt couldn't keep up. all I did was have FWC install a 30 amp Zamp controller. I already had a plug on back of camper for a portable so I added a Zamp 160 portable. So far with good sunlight have been very...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Are there level assists on the Fleet? what tools do you use?

Currently using a 1 foot level on the sink counter and eye ball it. This works pretty well; however, ran across this product which looks kind of interesting and eventually will probably give it a try. It's made for trailers but works well on truck campers according to the inventor...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Thermal Pack ripped!

FWC will send you a small piece of arctic pack material to glue on. Burnt mine a little when some hot bacon grease on a paper towel barely touched it. Material melts fast!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Adjustable screw latch for the Roof fell off

Just a HEADS UP... wasn't going to go very far and don't like to latch the roof down too tight anyway. Left what I thought was a thread or two still left in the latch housing and somehow it fell off on the road someplace!

Bill D or anyone, Spent hours cleaning the significant rubber stain left on the vinyl from the rubber gasket with the 303 cleaner. It got a good 95% of it.
