RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lift Panel For Sale

I have a new, never installed lift panel for sale. I sold my camper, so no longer need this. I believe this is for the rear of the camper. $200.00. If I remember, I paid as much for the shipping as I did for the panel, so I would rather not ship this, so pickup only. Located in Northwest...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bent frame and jack stand assembly.

I think you could take the bent jack to a machine shop and have them put it in a press to straighten it. As to the roof, I don't know.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Grandby in a full size short box

Anyone using a Grandby (shell) w/o the tailgate on a full size short box ? I have a 2011 Ram 2500 CCSB and a 1977 Grandby with 3- 2x4s running longways under the floor to get the height I need and to support the floor. By the time I put the spacer in front of the camper (4x4; to space back from...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper Dolly

Seth: Thanks for the reply. I bought the HF trailer and assembled it this weekend. Word to the wise....none of the parts are labeled, and instructions could be better. Plan for quite a bit more time than you think is necessary. When I was done, I measured to the top of the frame and added the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper Dolly

I looked back over this thread. Way back several years ago, someone used the 1170 lb capacity Harbor Freight trailer. I am thinking about doing the same. I need to go over some gravel in the drive and wondered how the trailer worked out. Anyone else using the HF trailer? Looking for current...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Getting Satellite Radio Reception with a Camper installed

Lawnmowerman is correct on the fees. I do the same with Sirius. I leave the boom box at the cabin and the plan is to install a 12v car radio in my FWC, along with a vehicle mount. Then I can take the receiver from the truck and either mount it in my FWC, or the boom box, depending on where I am...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Getting Satellite Radio Reception with a Camper installed

Be aware that the boom box has its own subscription. I have a 2011 truck with built in sat radio. I pay for this subscription. I also have a boom box and I have to pay a separate subscription for that one. Our current plan is to drop the subscription for the truck, and go with an "old school"...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper step

Thanks EDR. My Ram is not lifted but I still need (IIRC) 41" to the floor of the truck bed. I think I will try something like Bosque Bill's or Bill Harr's step. Probably need 3 steps. The hunt continues.....

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mid 80s Grandby

Haven't gotten the hang of posting links. But I just saw a build thread and one of the links there was for Sheefdog's build. IIRC, he did a whole floor pack replacement. Dusty. ETA: It's the Turtleshell build a few posts below.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mid 80s Grandby

To support the camper wile you remove and replace the floor...... I looked at some of the build (or rebuild) threads. On some of them, the builder removed the bottom 2 or 3 pieces of siding (mine was stapled to the frame) and ran an 8 foot 2x4 on the inside and outside, and bolted them together...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper step

What is anyone using for a step on a 3/4 ton Ram with a Grandby with the tailgate down (short bed, 8 foot camper)? I am currently using a small step ladder but want something a bit more solid.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mid 80s Grandby

As to the replacing the floor pack, look at some of the build threads. There is a separate sticky for the build threads. There are also threads here about the same topic. Some of the threads have good pictures. It has been done before. P.S. You may find that it is about as easy to replace the...

CKent: I did not put the linky in my post. (don't know how :( ) Must have been done by a Mod.....Ski? Just wanted to pass on the credit where due. Nevertheless, I am thinking about this style. I already have helper thingys on my Grandby, but I believe these will help with alignment. BTW, I found...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Generator Question

While the Hondas do not have a fuel shut off, there are a couple hacks on youtube that show you how to put one in. Just remember to shut off the fuel before you shut off the generator, or it does no good. Let the carb run out of fuel and the generator die. Mine takes an extra pull or 2 to start...

Any update on the lift panels/tubes? Also, I put my struts on the sides just in case I wanted to put an awning on the back, over the door.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West This old Granby build

WV: As far as the roof helper lifty thingys goes, there is a long thread on here and part numbers and sources are listed. I used the offset brackets and 30lb, 36" cylinders. BTW, I took out the FWC lift panes all together and rely solely on the cylinders to lift the roof. I think with the...

Stalking: Looks good! Are those tail lights/ brake lights / turn signals in the bumper? If not, here in Minnesota you could get pulled over for having the truck lights not visible. Just a thought.
