RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Renogy suitcase solar

I made my own suitcase with two 100w Renogy panels, a stainless piano hinge, MC4 connectors, and long cables to a Zamp solar port. I put the controller inside next to the batteries. Note that my suitcase folds up leaving the glass sides exposed. It seems like the bolts would have been too...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear mounted swing bike rack or front tow hitch bike rack?

I did a mount similar to Photohc on my hallmark. However I went with the entire cross bar set up so I could switch to ski/board racks in the winter. I cut the cross bars so they fit on one side of the door.

i use the same as outback. we store a thin cutting board under the dinette cushion.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Storage Boxes

I use Rubbermaid Roughneck totes- the lid has no holes so water stays out, and they remain flexible in below freezing temps so they don't crack, and they nest or stack well. I also have the collapsible crates, but they are not nearly as durable and mostly limited to indoor use. The Plano boxes...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Upgrading my solar

I agree with RC Pilot Jim that your current set up probably can't keep up with the CR-110 draw. This spring I bought a 2011 Northstar Laredo with a CR110 and was able to add three Renogy Eclipse 100w mono panels in parallel to the roof along with the Bogart Trimetric and SC-2030 with temp sensor...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West "New" Hallmark

I had Happijac tie downs and forklift fast guns on my 2006 Ram 2500 with Hallmark Milner and Northstar Laredo. Totally satisfied.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West blankets or sleeping bag?

Wife and I started with fitted flannel sheets and a down comforter - gives us a lot of flexibility for temp control and easy to wash. But we grew tired of fitting the sheets... I used one of our mummy bags when by myself in the winter, but I don't like feeling constrained by the bag, and I have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hallmark owners - how is the dinette/ bed?

I (5'9") have slept in the dinette bed when I didn't t feel like raising the roof, it worked fine. My neighbor sleeps there when we snowmobile, no complaints from him. The above posters also make valid points- cold doesn't seem to be an issue, head opposite end from furnace, would be more...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another new Hallmark

Just wanted to say that my hallmark seems to be way more comfy than any fwc I've seen. If your truck has the happijac bumper buttonS make sure the plate that goes on the button is inline with the turnbuckle, else the plate can get inline and cause slack. I wasn't crazy about the straight chain...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Hallmark Ute

Just a caution about condensation. I did find some mildew on the bottom of my Milner's mattress this summer. It may have been from my winter trips. Anyway, I ordered some hypervent (iirc) from a marine store to place under the mattress. Added benefit is that it allows warm air under the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lithium Batteries Installed in Hallmark K2

Thanks so much- there's enough detail in your reply I think a pic is not needed! After seeing a roof in construction I think it would be difficult to fish a wire after the fact.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lithium Batteries Installed in Hallmark K2

E- Can you provide more detail/ pics of your wire runs from panel to controller? I am planing a similar install on my 2010 Milner and trying to make it clean. I saw hallmark goes through the fan on a factory build. Thanks

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bendable panel Heat question answer by Renology Tech Dept

RC- Thanks so much for posting Renology's answer. I've been wondering that for some time. Seems like a white aluminum roof would be a decent heat sink. K, please post up whatever you do- maybe even a "on the roof" vs "above the roof" comparison.

TED, You don't need a panel punch; a step drill bit worked for me to drill into the front panel of my Atwood stove.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West ski storage ?

if you're willing to accept a higher center of gravity, build a raised platform for the camper to sit on and slide the skis underneath. You could have a locking door on the end for security. see the third mod , below mine, in the link below. I wasn't willing to do that, so I mounted load bars...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West F150 FX4 EcoBoost

That's one of things I like about the Dodge quad cab short bed vs the Ford- the cab is 'big enough' with four real doors, and the 6 1/2 foot bed is "big enough" for a shorter camper and something off the hitch.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West F150 FX4 EcoBoost

Slojet- did you pull the trigger? I had a 2005 F150 super cab (suicide doors) with the 5 1/2 foot bed. Worthless bed size for camper or carrying stuff. The length from the front of the bed to the rear axle was very short so you could not get the camper COG very far forward. And with no camper...
