RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West bug sprays ?

Gents, If you want to try all these natural remedies then do yourself one favor and carry a bottle of real & proven repellant in your kit for when the natural remedies fail. Otherwise, the mozzies will ruin your adventure.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Is there an accurate phone app altimeter ?

What did you wind up doing? Water can also run uphill. Ask a roofer. Capillary action. Use a level and level rod for elevation changes. Ask a Surveyor. Far more accurate than any other method that relies on barametric pressure or GPS and you really need gnats ass measurements for the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Satpaq satellite adapter to phone

One more thought that I cannot find an answer to through Google. InReach will continue to send a message until it reaches an Iridium satellite. How many times will the SatPaq continue to transmit a message until its completed? And if the user is stationary due to medical emergency then a fixed...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Satpaq satellite adapter to phone

From website: “Point to one of our two GEO satellites and send” Two satellites is not sufficient for solid coverage IMO. I would be interested in real user experience in mountainous terrain or tree canopy. These also lack the built-in Lat/Long coordinate of an InReach device. There is no GPS...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Windshield chipped/Fix or replace

Sometimes a replacement window will be of a lesser quality than the original and this is why you can find a bargain of $150 installed. These differences may not be immediately apparent. Those in the trade discuss the pros & cons here: https://info.glass.com/oem-vs-aftermarket-glass/

The screen has small scratches but they disappear when the screen light is automatically activated during use. The scratches are superficial.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hardside?

I imagine a newbie like me comes along every so often and asks about the rare FWC Hardside and you regulars just shake your heads at such silly questions...Lol But I first heard of these elusive creatures 2-3 years ago and have yet to see one in the wild. Do any of you actually own one or have...

Yes Sir, bugshirts work well but the limitations are they tear if you are bushwhacking; however, they are a good option if you are in camp or on a trail, etc. Headnets are another option but I don't care for them since they limit visibility that can limit ability to perform work or watch for...

DEET destroys nylon, polyester, polypro, etc. including clothing, packs, tents. Many of us Alaskans who spend 12 hours/day in the field use the Sawyer Picaridin Lotion: https://sawyer.com/products/picaridin-insect-repellent/ We also use Thermocells and they work decent if you are sitting...
