RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West buffer between flatbed tray and camper

I put a flatbed Grandby on my flatbed f350 in January. We live in snow country and I researched this heavily with fwc before installation. They assured me the use marine board and the underside is good to go. As you know it bolts to the bed directly. So far, I would say I feel comfortable with...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Furnace won’t spark

Spent the weekend in cold temps and snow and at 7000 feet. Took foil hose off and heater worked great the whole time. Two full days and a whole night of use. Used an entire 10 gallons of propane. Experiment a success. Just FYI.

Sorry, hose not house. Taking the plastic cover off the heater and removing the corrugated foil hose worked because of an airflow issue kept the furnace from lighting.

American truck boxes hard to deal with. I’ll update when they decide to do the job......3 months later, but we shall see

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Furnace won’t spark

I contacted fwc and they said it is an option to pull the corrugated foil house and it will help. I did, and it did work so far. Going out again next weekend and I’ll let you all know what happens. Four wheel campers offered to upgrade the parts and they are doing that. I’ll let you know on that...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Furnace won’t spark

Hi all, first night in the camper. Winter camping at about 6500 feet. Heater stopped being hot. We heard the clicking and started the truck up and the heat turned on.. we’d eventually turn off the truck and eventually the heater would blow cooler air again and we’d hear the clicking again. Based...

I looking for a tunnel box fabricator. Preferably it would be 82 x 42 x 20 to fit in front of Grandby camper on flatbed. Aluminum black would be preferred. Anyone recommend a good company? Thanks.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Flatbed protection on underside of camper when installing to flatbed?

My truck flatbed came stock with truck and I am unable/unwilling to purchase the nice aluminum tray. Regardless it is a little wide 6”s on both sides which I am actually happy about for a couple reasons. I am a little concerned about water or snow getting under it and permanently damaging it...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Hawk vs Grandby

Thanks. A bigger dinette would be really great assuming the overall length is manageable. For eating, hanging out, storage and sleeping. 16 to 18 inches is a lot! Thanks everyone

Thanks everyone. I hope it is after the door. I am totally good with a longer footprint for that reason and would go grandby if that were the case. I'll call FWC. I'll let you all know what I find if your interested.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Hawk vs Grandby

Good point, I forget I need to be more specific since there are a lot of different kinds of camper models. I was hoping for an understanding of where the extra 16" is on a flatbed Granby vs the flatbed Hawk. I am hoping it's in the Grandby dinette (seating for 4?) but can't find the spec on...

I’d love to know the answer to this comment. I thought the 16” were in the dinette seating area. Anyone know?
