    CO2/ propane detector going off

I have a new dog and the alarm goes off again. Reinforces my dog farts theory..... Any ideas on an alarm that isn't sensitive to dog farts? Any ideas on what to feed a farting dog so that she emits less gas (methane?).

    Water Pump 2017 Hawk

New pump installed, works perfectly. At $90/pump, I'd say this was the right solution and much quicker than tinkering with the old pump.

    Water Pump 2017 Hawk

Thanks everyone!! I actually just stopped by the new FWC dealer in Colorado. Nice guys. They took a look and recommended a new pump. Looks very easy to install on my own, so have ordered one. If anyone wants an 2017 pump to play with, let me know!! The faucet worked great. To Vic, I did...

    Water Pump 2017 Hawk

I thought I had this issue solved last year, but has now resurfaced. I suspect an air pocket vs pump bypass adjustment as the issue resolved itself after a couple camping adventures. Camper was winterized/drained, and now back on the truck and the pump is endlessly running with the faucet...

    Rig Build with FWC Hawk

James, this is awesome! The picture of the final build is great for those of us who are still tinkering with their electrical setup. I basically have all the same gear, but have not yet installed my DC/DC charger. I also can't tell from the picture if you also have a solar set up (don't see...

No lift. Did nick the skid plates a couple times. Nothing serious. I have skids from: https://valhallasshields.com/.

White Rim Road March 28-31st - EPIC

Hello! I've not posted a trip report before. First time for everything, like my White Rim adventure! We left Moab March 28th and entered the trail via Shafer. It had one switchback with snow and ice still. Was a little bit terrifying, but took it inch by inch and made it through. Drive...

    Water Pump 2017 Hawk

Hello! This forum has proved so valuable. I need a little more help with my water pump. Original to the 2017 camper. Normally when my water tank is full and I flip the switch to turn on the water pump, you hear the pump start and charge the system. When the system is charged the pump stops...

    CO2/ propane detector going off

Our alarm went off several times in the middle of the night on several camping adventures. I'm going with dog farts. He slept right next to the sensor and had gas issues. He died and I've had no issues since. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

    2017 Hawk Electrical Diagram?

Hey Vic, sorry for late reply. Just found the wires in the one location and was able to repair them. Flood lights working again. I guess the lesson is to take things apart a little more before drilling holes! But, camera works really well, so all good for now. Last project is to finally...

    2017 Hawk Electrical Diagram?

Hey friendly campers with electrical know how, Anyone by chance have an electrical diagram for a 2017 Hawk? Specifically the rear of the camper. My drill bit discovered a couple wires installing a sweet backup camera. Oops. Drilled two holes, one above the door and one through floor door...

Amazing set up. Do you mind sharing what if any suspension modifications you’ve made to the tundra? You’re carrying a lot of great stuff. I have a Hawk on my tundra, added airbags so far, that’s it.

    Battery novice needs help

Just reviving thread to thank everyone!! I successfully installed a new 100 ah Renogy lithium battery and new controller. The DcDc charger will be installed soon, but realizing this isn’t an emergency. I just returned from a five night adventure in UT and had zero battery issues. Everything on...

    Battery novice needs help

Thank you Rando, one day I’m going to have to drive to Boulder and buy you a beer. Another dumb one. The Iota is not plugged in to anything, but hard wired. Assuming I’ll just need to clip the plug off and hard wire? Guessing they are all sold with a plug for AC supply, knowing that the plug...

Also, think I'm confusing myself. Do I need to add an additional converter to the Victron IP22 set up?

    Battery novice needs help

Friends, Thanks to all the help on this forum, I've spent a bunch of money on parts and I'm now excited to install them!! Renogy 100Ah Lithium, no real reason why this brand vs BB, etc, was on sale (arrives tomorrow) Victron DC/DC charger for alternator charge (have it!) Victron IP22 charger...

    Battery novice needs help

Wow!!!!! Thank you very much to all. For me I think I landed on the Li battery and a DC-DC charger to start. Eventually a new controller and I’ll be all set. Now I have to order and put together without burning my garage down. Thanks all!

Jon, no need to be sorry! Not insulted at all. I’m new to this stuff and I know it! Would love to find someone to help me think through. Anyone live in Denver?

    Battery novice needs help

Thanks for kindly pointing out that I have no idea what I'm doing, because it's true! Also thank you for the summary on DC-DC, makes sense. I'd love to pay a nice person to help with this part, but our local FWC people have been a little unresponsive lately. Seems like everyone else in this...

    Battery novice needs help

Thanks Phil (and everyone else), Reviewing my setup and comparing to the Li setups above, it seems that the only piece I'm universally missing for the Li setup is the DC-DC charger. I really have no technical understanding of what this does, something about the truck battery/alternator/FWC...

    Battery novice needs help

Thanks Jon, just getting back to this forum. We use the camper for both 1 night quick camps to 6-8 night mostly off grid adventures. We have an additional portable solar panel that we haven't used yet but will be bringing that with on the next longer trip. We do a lot in sunny CO and UT, but...

    Battery novice needs help

Thanks!!! Would love to do that, except my local FWC dealer has been totally unresponsive to requests to do just that. I’ve reached out on at least three occasions and heard crickets. It’s sort of crazy really, but they must have enough business. So I’m on my own to figure it out.
