RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Is This My Bad?

Awe man, that sucks because i have stayed there before and they didn’t say anything about mine. I hope that’s not a new trend.

I can appreciate having rules and sticking with it, it’s their park after all and I love nature and cleanliness. Bolsa tends to have homeless try to stay in the bathrooms at night so they lock them up at 10pm and don’t want rVers relieving themselves outside etc.. The rule you mention does...

I’m the same, I prefer tent sites when travelling and everywhere I’ve been so far hasn’t given me any grief about it. I’ll pick an RV spot for something different or if I just want a quick getaway nearby at a nice spot. If tent sites start limiting things I’d have to go quite a bit further away...

It is a small RV site with 0 tent sites. I do love it down there and they’ve let me stay there before so maybe I got bad luck that weekend. They responded to me asking for some rig info. Will let y’all know what they ultimately say. And I can relate to your story, nothing like walking through...

So went and spoke to the camp host. He basically said whatever the front says goes and he won’t go against them. I get it, you like your camp host position and don’t want to go against company orders. I’ll take a stab at talking to the office about it, but I know I’m going to be talking to a...

Unreal man, I may have to stop over there today to give them a little **** for this. At least I know you’re seeing the same thing I am. Will let you all know what I find out, doubt they’ll reply to my email.

It could be reserve California that messed up, but they kind of threw it in my face that I should have read the disclaimer, so be aware folks I don’t think they’ve read their own disclaimer.

Bolsa Chica State Beach, it was a State Employee not the camp host. I’m sure the camp host would have known what they were looking at. The girl at the kiosk stopped me first because she asked me, “that thing is fully contained? Does it have a flushable toilet?” She at least got her supervisor...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Truck and Camper Dropped Off Lift

I brought my truck into the dealership for an oil change, but didn’t have my camper on the back. 2020 Ram 2500 6.4L and this was maybe the 2nd oil change. Went to grocery store, and got the dreaded phone call that they drop my truck off the lift….. took out my AMP steps but thankfully no other...

Had a weekend booked at a California state beach in my Hawk Side Dinette, thinking all was good. Show up and get turned away because I don’t have a sewer connection. However, I do have a portable toilet that flushes and has a holding tank. I was told it was my fault I should have checked the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Frustrating interaction with FWC

I have an 85L but use it mostly for food. I keep a 45Q cooler in my truck for the drinks. When the food starts to take up less space I use some ice cold drinks to help the fridge out and so I can lower the power. I considered the 130 fridge but opted for more space above the fridge and so far...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Prepping Ram 2500 for Hawk question

I have the same setup, 2020 ram 2500 6’4” and hawk. You can access the wiring hole no issue and no need to cut the bump stops. I even mounted my camera below the lip because there is a gap between it and the bed and I didn’t want to drill into the aluminum skin.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Spare Tire Swing + 1up + Hawk

I saw that and I just really like my 1up. Not enough benefit for me to spend a couple grand….. yet anyway lol. Although, now that I’m looking at the Rak Attach from 1up or any of the others, they don’t look as solid as the rigd from an off-road perspective. I don’t know, back to square 1 I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Spare Tire Swing + 1up + Hawk

Sorry guys, I completely forgot I posted this my bad. I think I’m going to go with a regular swing out from 1 up. As Jsoboti pointed out I think it would be too much of a diving board if I included a spare tire mount. Weight wise I’m fine but it’s just too much crap sitting off the back and I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Screen Door Latch Catching

+1 to Capt Davenport. I had similar issues, mines five months old. Door jam screw was just spinning so had to find slightly bigger screw and loctite. It’s ok but I think after a lot of use it’ll need something better. Also had to cinch down the black plastic piece on the door itself holding the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Spare Tire Swing + 1up + Hawk

Hi folks. I have a 2020 Ram 2500 setup with a Hawk. Was considering getting a simple hitch mount swing out for my 1up bike rack. However, a better option might be getting a rigd Ultraswing and hitching my bike rack to the swing arm so I can mount my spare tire as well. Does anybody have this...

Sorry I didn’t see this a while back. Appreciate the info and I’ll look into all of those. I’m really glad I installed that battery monitor though. Makes a world of difference and I don’t feel like I’m in the dark on how much left of my battery I’ve got.

Viair is a nice little insurance policy. Don’t want to install on board air and needed something juuuuust in case. Only really had to air down and back up once in DV so far. Truck isn’t exactly a billy goat so now I mainly keep it around for that odd chance I blow a tire in an undesireable...

Well, as long as I’m not wiring up your house electrical I think the world is safe for now;). Very easy for me to miss a minor detail like that jumper cable because I am not too knowledgeable, however the more I do it the more I lean! Fun project, still need to mount it but it’s up and running!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Victron BMV-712 Wiring Q

Final update, figured it out!! With help. Friendly neighbor came by and taught me how to use the voltmeter to sniff out the problem. Turns out there wasn’t any voltage going from the battery to B1 which powers the meter. The little 1A in-line fuse wasn’t providing continuity! Both wires that...

Latest update. Ok, I have it wired up again. Still no display readout from the Victron but at least I feel I have the wiring correct and my batteries haven’t shorted out this time lol. However, still no readout. I also bought shorter rj12 cable but still nada. Im thinking the head unit is...
