RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Top highway speed

I was lucky to hit 50 before I installed the Timbrens due to the sway. Post timbrens we keep it to 65. No issues with wind or sway at higher speeds though. Our stays on full time, averaging about 13-14 mpg on a Ram 2500.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Camper Wiring Check

That wire is going to the negative terminal of the other lithium battery I have. While troubleshooting with Expion360 they told me it was fine setup like that. As an update to my issue, I received a new battery monitor and shunt from Expion360 and that appears to have fixed the problem. Seems...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Camper Wiring Check

I’ve actually considered that. It’s definitely on the table after I try out the new monitor Expion360 has in transit to me.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Camper Wiring Check

I have, and based on my very low understanding of all things electrical, it seems to be configured properly as well. I get the new battery monitor from E360 on Monday to swap out so hopefully that solves the issue. But based on what the tech rep told me on the phone and the way she ended the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Camper Wiring Check

Every time I look at it it’s been blinking. And it’s always the light above Li that’s blinking.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Camper Wiring Check

Yep, the light blinking on the RedArc is the Li light, and when the truck is on the vehicle light is illuminated, which leads me to believe it’s charging when driving. Beyond that, I really have no idea. The camper does have a Zamp charge controller, 40amp 12/24 volt model SCC 1011. After some...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Camper Wiring Check

Correct, all those pictures were taken at the same time. I reset the E360 monitor on Sunday or Monday back to 100%, and at this point it’s made it way down to the 62% it’s showing now. Eventually it’ll get down to 0% and stay that way even though the batteries are charged. The RedArc model is...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Camper Wiring Check

I’ve gone thru all the manuals I have, but honestly only understand maybe half of it. For the Redarc, I did confirm that the red light on the unit illuminates when the truck is on, so DC to DC power is apparently working. Here’s some photos of what my Zamp controller, E360 monitor and the E360...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Camper Wiring Check

I just got back to Alaska after picking up a new Alaskan Camper from Washington and had issues with my battery monitor on the trip home. I have two 162AH Expion 360 lithium batteries with two solar panels, DC to DC charger and a Redarc charger. My Expion 360 battery monitor would decrease from...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Covering an Alaskan Camper during off season

I purchased a boat cover from National that I ended up sending back after a month. Heavy duty material but the stitching holes were huge and let in a lot of water. We get a lot of rain and moisture here in Kodiak though, so it may not be a huge issue if you’re in an area with less moisture or...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Rubber Bumpers/ Bed Mat Question

That’s simple, I like it. That’s what I’ll go with. Been looking at thin strips of plastic from Amazon that go on boat trailer bunk rails. My thought was to attach a 36” x 3” strip of it to the front of the camper where it hits the truck bed rail. Your idea seems perfect without anything having...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Rubber Bumpers/ Bed Mat Question

Thanks so much for the input! I’ll reply back in August after I pick it up and get home if they are doing anything different than what you described. I’m currently looking into different options for the front of the bed where it meets the camper in the event they aren’t installing the rubber...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Rubber Bumpers/ Bed Mat Question

Are they permanently mounted to the bottom of the camper? Or just laid down on top of the mat?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Rubber Bumpers/ Bed Mat Question

I’ll probably just have a good discussion with them when I pick it up. Might just be something I have to keep an eye on and adjust as time goes on. I plan on keeping it in the bed semi-permanently.

The canvas portion definitely looks similar to Supertramps design.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Rubber Bumpers/ Bed Mat Question

Thanks for the input! You’d think bumpers would be something they would install on them, but it’s not something I can find too much information on online. They did respond back that they will put boards in the bed on pickup day but I’m thinking a rubber mat on top their boards wouldn’t hurt...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Alaskan Rubber Bumpers/ Bed Mat Question

Hi folks, soon to be new Alaskan 7’ owner here in a few weeks and wanted to get some feedback from those of you who have experience with these campers. First, is a rubber bed mat in the truck bed necessary? My truck has the spray-in bedliner installed. What about rubber bumpers between the...
