RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Replacement refrigerator for '05 Hawk recommendations

Hi there, The stock, 3-way Norcold that came new with my '05 Hawk finally quit and I need a replacement. Has anyone dealt with this and what do you all recommend? The Norcold drew more amps than my battery could handle, even when driving so I'd like one that is efficient off 12v when driving. I...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New Heaters and fridge

How are the new fridge units and what does everyone recommend? I have a Norcold that came with my Hawk new in '05. It was great off propane but never good on 12v, even with the truck running. I have solar as well. It's finally died and I need to replace it. I want a 3-way and to be able to run...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New roof lifting struts installed on 2009 Hawk

Just installed my lift assist on Friday (4-40# struts) and tested them out, must say very pleased. Lifted no problem with a roof loaded with three surfboards + solar. Easy install, thanks to the forum for the advice and questions answered!

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New roof lifting struts installed on 2009 Hawk

STOEF, I have a ATC Bobcat that I carry a canoe similar to yours. I also used the "suspa #40" struts with straight brackets. I have no problem lifting the roof or lowering. Sure makes a difference when the canoe is on. I was able to install them myself. It's pretty easy and straight forward...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West New roof lifting struts installed on 2009 Hawk

Mine were from the Suspa company, 36" long and 40 lbs of force. Thanks a bunch, did you use the off set brackets as well? Time to order!

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Baja - A Trip to the Tip

Every time I've gone down, I would turn off for "Rabbit Pt." as well, both on the way down and back up. And every time I would pull in it seems to be the windiest place on the entire peninsula. Still, I keep going back and still haven't gotten wet there! Great pics, great trip. You re-ignighted...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West My New Eagle Shell Finished (Photos)

Water tank is only 10 (maybe 12) gallons. Only thing I am struggling with in my head is if I want to add water pump......hate to use power, but pumping faucet is funky. I have solar and NEVER run low on power. Great job!

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West Fridge Trouble

Mine works great... if you love everything to be frozen. When I attempt to adjust the temp. it will shut off. Only when on propane of course, unfortunately that is the only source I run it from. Gotta love popsicles in August though... in the middle of nowhere.

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West rear wall step placement

Thanks to all for the assistance and info. After having two pair of these sitting in my shop collecting dust for the past four years, I have finally mounted the passenger side! Will move onto the driver side when I have more time to remove the refer. Guess I just couldn't believe they'd bolt...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West rear wall step placement

Here's a photo of a Hawk, (with a 3 way fridge and rear window), showing where steps may be placed on either side. You will want to find the studs in the frame, this is merely for a visual. I understand installing steps after the camper is completed can be a bit of a bugger, particularly with...

RV LIFE Multisite Forum, Wander The West rear wall step placement

New member and I'm sure this has already been addressed, but does anyone have any info regarding the placement of the rear wall steps. Not many options for me as I have a refer on one side and a rear window on the other. Only frame diagram I can find is of the frame photo from the 4-wheel...
