RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fantastic Fan opens itself and destroys itself: Easy to Remove and Replace with MaxxAir?

FWC factory made some little bungees for me the first time - all that did was cause the handle to strip out against the still rotating "shaft" inside. So instead of stripping out more of those plastic handles, I took mine off completely and ziptied the lid to the fan blades - evidently I didn't...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fantastic Fan opens itself and destroys itself: Easy to Remove and Replace with MaxxAir?

Never thought about that - some type of backdraft vortex - lifting at the lid? It's really weird. At first I thought it was me forgetting to close it but then after a few times where I specifically closed it with the intent of checking to see if it opens itself, I did find it opening. Did you...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fantastic Fan opens itself and destroys itself: Easy to Remove and Replace with MaxxAir?

Thanks for the info Jack! I'm most concerned with harming the roof by having to put weight on it. Seems like a relatively easy job... working up the nerve to tackle it.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fantastic Fan opens itself and destroys itself: Easy to Remove and Replace with MaxxAir?

Greetings, I've got a 2017 Hawk. For unknown reasons, my front Fantastic Fan opens itself. Really. I think it may have to do with some type of vibrations generated by my particular camper (flatbed version). I've already destroyed one Fantastic Fan because it vibrated itself open in Wyoming and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Help me Trouble Shoot my 2 Way ISOTHERM Fridge Problem!

Thanks MotoDave - I'll check that out. I can say that it now, at this point, it won't run on 12v even during the middle of a bright sunny day. Also - the interior light of the fridge doesn't even light - it almost seems like the 12v circuit from the camper is compromised. I did check voltage...

Hey Timothy is that for the Isotherm? I had mistakenly first posted that it was a Dometic.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Help me Trouble Shoot my 2 Way ISOTHERM Fridge Problem!

Yes there's a 15amp circuit breaker in the Blue Sea box in the electrical cabinet - I've checked the fuse and replaced it. I'll have another look today to see if there's anything loose in there.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Help me Trouble Shoot my 2 Way ISOTHERM Fridge Problem!

Glad to hear you're problem was solved - sounds like an even better reason for me to contact the factory. We don't have a dealer here in San Diego but there is one within an hour and a half or so from here. I'll report back.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Help me Trouble Shoot my 2 Way ISOTHERM Fridge Problem!

Pg. 53 of the manual - basically could be: No electrical power, battery in poor condition, faulty thermostat, defective electronic control unit. However - my compressor does function and the refer does work - just only on AC power. My battery bank is fine - it's powering up my ARB fridge (I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Help me Trouble Shoot my 2 Way ISOTHERM Fridge Problem!

Thanks for the response - I read the warranty book and it says they warranty the camper but the warranty for the components is provided by the individual manufacturers. But I do think they should bear some responsibility for helping me out... anybody have any experience with this? j

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Help me Trouble Shoot my 2 Way ISOTHERM Fridge Problem!

Been thinking it's prob a good idea to check the 12volt supply at the refer to see if there's any voltage drop there - this might indicate some type of short in the 12v supply between the battery source and the refer. - am I right? Anybody know how I access the 12v supply behind the refer on a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Help me Trouble Shoot my 2 Way ISOTHERM Fridge Problem!

Greetings FWC folks, I've got a small glitch going on with my 7 month old Hawk. I ordered the camper with the 2 way ISOTHERM large sized refrigerator. It's been working great for 16,000 miles of travels BUT just today a week after our last Yellowstone trip, the refrigerator has stopped working...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Intro and Solar Install Help

Congratulations on your new camper. I just got mine in April and I really love the thing. I set up my two solar panels with the same idea that you have about wanting to carry boards on the racks but not shade the panels. I was able to mount two 100watt Renogy panels so that the vent side of the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How do I know if I filled my hotwater tank before I fire that beast off?

Greetings, The good people over at AT in Prescott filled my water tank up for me when I picked up my flatbed Hawk. I've had her out on a couple short trips and have used the hotwater heater and everything worked great. Just today, however, I added some bleach to the tank, drove around (to get...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Surfboard Jack Bracket Mount - Help in PA for Build?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar Plug wire grounding issue/short on new Swift - FOUND/FIXED

How satisfying must it have been to start uncovering wire and then actually find the hole where the staple shorted out the wire. Great job! I think I kinda can relate to that feeling of satisfaction: moto (drz400) decided it wouldn't idle anymore, ran fine on choke, but the second you came off...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Portable solar setup

I have a brand new Hawk and haven't installed my roof panels yet but I have been charging my batteries with a 160watt portable Zamp suitcase (it has a pwm charger on it already). What I did is wire an sae plug to my battery bank. When I want to charge the batteries, I open the external battery...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2015 Hawk UTE existing wiring & Proposed sketch

Cool - thanks for the pics! Man, don't you love your flatbed? We took ours up to Torrey Pines State Beach today. There's a corner up in the parking lot that's perfect for posting up in the flatbed for the day (nice ocean views). Made some hot tea, ate cheese and crackers and went for a nice...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2015 Hawk UTE existing wiring & Proposed sketch

Ok now THAT is cool. I had no idea it did that - I don't have an extra temperature "probe" plugged into the extra ports on the shunt - does that matter?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2015 Hawk UTE existing wiring & Proposed sketch

Hey could you give me more information on the temperature sensor you mentioned as an upgrade to the BMV-712? Since my controller is in a different cabinet than my batteries this is a feature I could really use. Wonder if Hawk flatbed wiring is different than Fleet? Will be interesting to see -...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2015 Hawk UTE existing wiring & Proposed sketch

Are you sure that those wires in the battery box are connected to the plug on the roof for your solar? The reason I ask is this: I just picked up my 2017 flatbed Hawk and I know for certain (received an email from FWC that confirms this) that the red and black wires that are in my battery box...
