Should FWC campers be marketed towards Tacomas?

I would be really really sad if this size camper wasn't manufactured and marketed for our poor little tacomas. I love my ATC Bobcat on my 2010 Tacoma. Its been on the truck full time for ten years now.

Backup camera for new Tacoma TRD Prerunner with Fleet unit ?

Hello Fred, I have a 2010 Tacoma. I removed the camera from the tailgate and mounted it on the back of my camper. I used an outdoor electrical box with cover that I found at lowes or home depot, and some non metallic flexible conduit for routing the wire. I had to get some more wire and splice...

Rigid foam insulation under cabover on Bobcat

Hello AK NOMAD, I have been adding rigid foam everywhere that I can, outside and inside, I added a 1/2" layer on the floor, inside the camper. I have not looked in the walls but I know there is one inch of glass bat, not much insulation but it is a light weight camper. I have added a 1/2" layer...

Rigid foam insulation under cabover on Bobcat

Hello everyone, I have been asked about this modification so here are some photos. I added a 2" foam panel to the underside of the cabover. I used stainless steel screws set thru the angle into the frame around the edge of the bed. I used Gorilla glue to secure it, the gorilla glue does not...

Great idea. Does it help with the condensation under the mattress? I might try that if it helps the inside from condension. Frank Hello Frank, The rigid foam insulation does reduce the condensation under the mattress since the panel stays warmer. I also added a 3/8" closed cell foam pad...

Bobcat Shell on a Toyota Tacoma

Thanks for the reply. For now I have to keep my 97 Tacoma with the 2.4 four and automatic. Most of the time the shell would be empty and the truck is used as a daily driver. My main concern is how the truck would handle the empty shell. I can see a full camper being to much for a smaller truck...

Bobcat Shell on a Toyota Tacoma

I think I am also infected by the alumabug. Can you post some detail on the foam under the c-o? Is it straight foam or do you have it wrapped in aluminum? Its a rigid foam board with some painted plywood veener on the bottom with the edges wrapped in aluminum trim with some silicon sealant...

Bobcat Shell on a Toyota Tacoma

About the UCA for the toyota tacoma, from what I have read the aftermarket UCAs are stronger, give more articulation and provide more adjusment for alignment when the front is lifted. Also they add more clearance between the inside tirewall and the ball joint. I have noticed that with my current...

Bobcat Shell on a Toyota Tacoma

Can I ask what you did to your suspension? I have a 2011 Tacoma AC V6 4WD TRD and am considering a Bobcat camper shell with few options- aiming for minimum weight. I know our gear will still add up weight-wise. I am trying to decide what improvements to the suspension I should do. Based on what...

Good looking rig! What do you have going on under the cabover? Still trying to figure out what would be the best use of that space. Thanks for noticing! I installed a chunk of 1.5 inch rigid foam board to the underside of the bed in order to add some insulation. It keeps the inside under the...

Bobcat Shell on a Toyota Tacoma

Hi Everyone. I have another question. Has anyone put a Bobcat Shell on a second generation Tacoma? I am thinking about getting a new 2012 Tacoma base model with four cylinder and a five speed. I would think a new Tacoma could handle the camper better than the older Tacoma since it is a bigger...
