Truck bed - slight crack visible -

All,picking up the threads again on this issue. I was off for a while with job hunt etc. I've decided to sell the truck camper and move on to other things. I hoped to repair it and then sell it, but after talking to bodyshops etc, I decided to sell the truck+camper combo as is for a good...

Thanks Josh. Hope this is not a Nissan thing. I'd appreciate your photos of the fix and of the spot welds if possible.

    Is that bracket something custom?

Truck bed - slight crack visible -

That sounds like the right plan. I am waiting for FWC 'Engineering Dept' to get back to me. Apparently the Service dept does not have an opinion until Engg weighs in. I am a bit underwhelmed by FWC.

Truck bed - slight crack visible -

Its funny you suggest the Happijacs. When the accident happened to my truck a while back, I called FWC and said "hey now is a good time to install happijacs while the repairs are happening and insurance is footing the bill. what do you say?" and unfortunately, the owner of FWC happened to take...

Truck bed - slight crack visible -

So, back then, the bed was replaced completely, and the donor bed was from another titan. All other parts were new Nissan original. I have the invoices to prove that. The re-install of the camper was done by FWC, and there were no issues raised then....

    Favorite Books

Any books on the Basque country in northern nevada area? I was just up there this past weekend and was smitten with the wild beauty of the area. In looking around for some literary inspiration, i came across this book: Sweet Promised Land by Robert Lamalt. Ordered it.

Truck bed - slight crack visible -

Hi all, I have a FWC Hawk mounted on a Nissan Titan. I just noticed a slight cracking of the bed where the rear eyebolts goes through the bed. How should i go about this repair? Is it just a welding around the edges job or something more serious? I also do not have camper jacks to take the...

Hi all, The icebox in our 2013 Hawk broke its lower hinge while trying to cram in something. I'm going to replace it with another icebox of the same size. Does anyone know the model number? FWC did give me its size (1.9L) and model number as Formco 13055 , but i don't see it available online...

Ram Truck Not Recommended For Slide In Camper

I have read on here somewhere that the warning in that manual was an out-of-date edition. I think it was for either Ram or Chevy. I wouldnt worry unless it is a PowerWagon

Rear Sway Bar for 3/4 Ton with Hawk

Absolutely put them on. After the swaybar install, I was able to go around canyon corners like as if it were a much lighter vehicle. Even a passenger who did not know about them was surprised i was able to go around corners so smoothly. They should be the starting point for suspension upgrades...

    Suspension upgrade 2016 Colorado

Can you post some MPG numebrs for us to drool over? For the shocks, Deaver springs should be your first stop? Their leaf springs for my Titan cost only $900 and are fantastic.

    Mpg report

2008 Nissan Titan with loaded FWC Hawk on it. I average 13mpg. Wish i could get 15, but considering i paid only $18k for a used loaded truck, i justify to myself that i just saved a lot of money that i can burn in gas.

    Ford 150 with greater payload

Wise man. Yea, its strange how we feel the "truck does fine" weighed beyond max payload just becuase the motor seems to pull it fine. The real deal is if the body is happy with that much weight.

    Tailgate Overhang

Bad idea to extend much past the truck end, let alone the tailgate end. Also your Tacoma is pretty light to begin with. ALL of the weight will be sitting on your rear axle.
