They could have narrowed without damaging the part of the floor that you see. Sure wish ours would fit a newer truck. Love the '78 Chevy but we have a '95 Silverado diesel that would handle it better for the longer trips. Darn thing is literally 3/4 of an inch too narrow! Your door opens...

Nice find! We have an 87 Grandby. Ours seems to be original. In comparison, yours has been upgraded. The windows are upgraded, the cushions have been recovered and those curtains are DEFINITELY not original. :) The floor looks the same though. Have fun with your new toy!

So there isn't any confusion. We are NOT in Anza Borrego State Park, we are in Ocotillo Wells SRVA and ground fires are allowed. There are fire pits at the area we're in though so no worries either way.

Ground fires are allowed. Showers are $0.50 for 2 minutes and they do take quarters.

FYI for those not familiar with out local desert. Cell phone reception is spotty at best. Non-existent in most areas. While fires are permitted, no burning of any wood with nails and such - no pallets. Can't wait to see everyone! So Cal Adventurer I'm sure you will be welcome - we love to talk...

Nice write-up and great finished product. Where is your water tank though? We have a 87 Grandby and will be looking at doing something similar possibly as our cabinets need a little work.

We have an older set up and a standard cab truck. All of our gear rides on the floor of the camper and makes an area level with the seats. We stuff a sleeping bag in any large cracks between cooler and boxes then cover with a dog blanket. Our two, 45 pounds and 30 pounds ride on that in the...

Thank you to everyone who made this such a great success! Jim, Terry, Stan, Chris... well, EVERYONE! Food was wonderful, conversations were excellent. We really enjoy the mix of people and backgrounds - all with a common love of camping and our little campers.

Apogee, lurkers are always welcome. Us FWC folks love to show off our rigs. :) I would suggest being there for the walk around on Saturday so you can get an idea of improvements and such.
