RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Here is how to prevent getting locked out of camper

Is there a better quality lock, such as the following, that doesn’t have these problems? https://www.rvlock.com/collections/mechanical-entry/products/rvlock-gripmax-mechanical-entry-handle

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper Step Recommendation?

I should mention something else that applies especially if you get a taller stepladder, like my four step. At first, I couldn’t get it close enough to the camper door, because the camper just barely overhangs the bumper. The swing up handle (when flipped down) hit the bumper and prevented the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper Step Recommendation?

I don't remember exactly what I did to remove the handle. I had to cut off (with a hacksaw, I think) the pivot bolt inner head. It wasn't too hard.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper Step Recommendation?

If you are agile enough, and your camper is not too high, that two step portable folding stepstool would work. It would not work for my wife because she has bad knees and our camper is pretty high. So we use a four step little giant stepstool. It works great for us. Little Giant Ladders, Jumbo...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BBQ for camper - with a poll!

I have a Skotti grill. https://skotti-grill.com/ The best thing about it is that it breaks down to a very slim package and fits between the camper floor pack and the truck bedside. It is a very good use for that little storage space. However., the grilling surface is not very big and it is...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bed platform to raise camper

I had similar difficulty finding Foamular 250 4x8x1". I gave up and just used the 150 instead. So far so good, but I’ve only been on a few trips. I need 3” lift total, so I have the 250 2” on the bottom to better bridge the truck bed ridges, then the 150 1” on top. If I find it compresses over...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Toilets for FWC Shell

We mostly camp in campgrounds that have some kind of toilet available. So the toilet in our Bobcat is primarily for night-time #1, but we want something that can handle #2 if we ever need it. We used to have a Thetford portapotti, but the cheap plastic hinges on the lid broke and I was getting...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West **SOLD** 3-step camper stairs for sale

This is a Xtend & Climb WT3 Contractor Series Folding Stool with Handrail, 3-Step. $60.00. Located in Hillsboro, Oregon. Local pickup only. These were just right for my Bobcat on a Nissan Frontier. But now the Bobcat is on a 2000 Ford F-150 7700, so I need 4-step stairs. I attached some...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Steps up/down from bed

This is what we use on my wife’s side of the bed. Stromberg Carlson LA-460 60" Bunk Ladder https://a.co/d/87bzhmF I remember cutting it to be the right length and I believe taking off one step. There are instructions that tell you the ideal angle, so you know where to cut the ladder.

Is there any resolution to this? From the descriptions of the problem I am reading in this thread, it just started happening to me as well in the last few days. Did anything change? The app on both my iPhone and iPad are giving me errors. I tried logging out, logging in, uninstalling...

Yes, I second that! I see the switch to lithium (SOK seems the best option) in my near future. I’m hoping to stay with my Trimetric controller and monitor.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ocelot shell build ideas

I second the idea of L shape seating, with bench under cab window. I built out my Bobcat shell similar to ski3pin, with a side dinette and Truckfridge under the cab window. https://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/topic/14579-bobcat-prototyping-build/ I may have (definitely) stolen some of his...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Turnbuckle confusion

Marty told me to put the grooves on the bottom on all turnbuckles. Then you have “righty tightly, lefty loosely” all around. I think that is the main reason, so it’s not confusing which way to turn any turnbuckle.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Want to Go Modular- Interior

I had in mind a modular approach for my Bobcat build, and this is what I came up with. Bobcat prototyping build https://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/index.php?/topic/14579-Bobcat-prototyping-build I found it more difficult than I expected to keep it “modular” and still optimize functionality...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2x4 Under the camper alternatives?

I’m planning on using Fomular to raise my camper. Is it somewhat “sticky” once the camper is on? Am I correct in thinking I won’t need some kind of a rubber mat to keep the camper from sliding around?
