RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West For Sale: Four Wheel Camper Tacoma tie down bars

I sold my 2017 FWC Fleet and have a pair of the steel tie-down bars that I would like to get out of my garage. They are too heavy to ship. The location is in Western Pennsylvania. If you are looking for a used FWC camper they might come in handy. They were mounted in a 2013 Tacoma. You could...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West (Sold) Loaded 2017 FWC Fleet Silver Spur for sale $21,500

This camper is loaded with almost everything you can order from FWC, and includes an additional investment in solar. A loaded Fleet ordered today with these options would cost over $31,000. Save about $10,000 and many weeks of waiting for a new Fleet camper. The price reflects a $1,500 discount...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Seller advice -- repair roof hail damage or discount price?

Thanks for all the comments. Selling as is would be my preference and hopefully as @Kolockum mentioned, the popularity of the FWCs and the long wait times for new will make it a non-issue. When I talked to the FWC in Denver he told me that the waiting list for ordering new is many weeks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Seller advice -- repair roof hail damage or discount price?

Well, a road trip is always good and I have relatives nearby so it wouldn't be bad, but . . . it would be more fun to drive the new van build, even if it isn't finished.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Seller advice -- repair roof hail damage or discount price?

I have decided to sell my 2017 Fleet and do a Ford Transit van camper build. About a year ago I was caught in a nasty hail storm in Colorado and it dimpled the thin aluminum sheet that covers the roof. No other damage was done to the camper and the roof is intact and water-tight. You obviously...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 30 lb vs 40lb struts

Ah, I found it on one of the struts that was turned the right way. It is a Suspa C16-32561 16/37. I assume that means 37 lbs, which people are referring to as the 40 pounders.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 30 lb vs 40lb struts

Good timing for this thread. When I ordered my 2017 Fleet I didn't go with the FWC solar setup and did it on my own. I checked with the dealer and he said they would put the heavier struts on my camper since I was going to add panels. I'm not convinced that they did. It is a bit of a grunt to...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Front dinette photos

Fireball, the seat backs are flat, but have a rigid back to the cushion which rests on wooden rails to prevent the cushion from resting on the window. I live near Slippery Rock. If you are in the area you are welcome to check out the front dinette setup in person on my Fleet.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Has anybody had Four Wheel replace a roof?

RajaZoie, please update us once the work is completed. I was caught in a nasty hail storm in Greeley, CO, on Sunday with almost golf-ball sized hail. Did the same to my camper top. I was expecting to lose the solar panel, but it survived as did the vent covers. I live in Pennsylvania, so I'm...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Flatbed utility trailer for storage?

Thanks for the advice. I worry about the weight rating of the HF trailer listed above, although I would only be moving the camper about 30 feet into and out of the garage. Once in place, as someone mentioned above, I could use the camper jacks to secure the camper and reduce some of the weight...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Flatbed utility trailer for storage?

Reviving this thread as I'm thinking of how to get my camper into the garage this winter. I was comparing the cost of building a dolly and pushing over gravel vs. buying a used utility trailer. I found this at Tractor Supply, which I could attach to the quad I use to plow my driveway. What do...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Propane Alarm

Update: Since posting this the propane alarm got worse. It went off on a cloudy cool day with the camper door wide open. Wouldn't turn off. I pulled both propane tanks and set them about 60 feet away from the camper. The propane alarm would not silence. I called Aaron and he sent me a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Flexible Solar panel longevity?

Update: Zamp contacted me (Joe) and they confirmed that my flexible panel was dead. Despite my use of the panel in a way they didn't approve, the company stood behind its product. Joe offered to replace the panel with a folding portable unit, or a solid traditional panel. Pretty happy with the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How do you pack a Front Dinette?

Yes, photos please. Sort of related, my wife found some hooks that are designed to fit over the top of doors, and we slip them between the folding panels that hold up the roof near the door and stove. We use these to hang a dish towel, wet coats, ball caps, etc.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Quick fix for the factory screen door slider - Now it slides nice and smooth!

Just did the same. Found small satin finished drawer pulls that matched the Fleet trim. Thanks to the new handle, and a little silicon spray in the tracks, the slider works smoothly now with one finger. Hodakaguy, thanks for posting photos. I had a similar thought after trying the slider for the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How do you pack a Front Dinette?

Hey all, I’d like to hear from the Fleet Front Dinette owners about how you pack your gear. I’m not sure if the larger models have the same cabinet space. My use of the storage areas has evolved a bit as I have spent more time in the camper. I have a couple of cabinets that I‘m still scratching...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West AT Overland 10 pound propane tank holder installed

Good job. Those jack brackets are handy. I used the same bracket to mount a Rotopax gas can. I'm thinking of designing a removable shower curtain frame on the rear driver's side bracket.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Am I crazy? Switching Tacoma's for a Fleet.

Interesting discussion about matching trucks and campers. I went through the same choices last year, looking at Tacos vs. Tundras, although I didn't have an existing short bed truck to add to the confusion. I ended up with the Taco Quad Cab posted below. I initially thought I wanted an access...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Flexible Solar panel longevity?

Thought I would add a report about my experience with the Zamp 100w flexible panel so others don't make the same mistake. I installed a Grape 180w on the roof and in October purchased the Zamp flexible to use as a portable when camped in the shade. I stored it under the mattress when not in use...
