Pam and I took a shorty trip just an hour north of Tucson Near Winkleman AZ on Hwy 77. The purpose was to see how the dogs did camping. Rambo The Wonder Chug did great. Mellow as can be and never needed the lead. India the illeagle boxer was out of control. That was our worry as she is very hyper and nervous. If we didnt have the crate with us we would have gone nuts. As it was we walked her every 20 minutes.

The camp site was BLM on the Gila River. We were all alone and had no flys or other beasties. It was idyllic and sooooo close. This part of the Gila has a lot of kayakers and float tube folks but Thur & Fri it was empty.

You will notice on the dog crate a box of the finest vintage CA white. The awning was awsome. Here are just a few pix.

Jay

Good to see ya getting out there. Awning looks great, same set up I used to have on my old Alaskan. Although a little pricey, Sumbrella makes a good product and comes in a large array of colors. Had a sailmaker buddy of mine sew one up for the Alaskan.

Cheers,

thanks for the nice words. I'm sure at some point i'll need to make another awning but i'll waite until the UV destroys this one. I must say just a little bit embarassed that I really was kinda of proud of the thing and it worked just how I envisoned it to.

Don't be embarrassed Jay,

Take pride in a job well done, it is those small wins that make it all worth it. Nice work! :thumb:

Nice looking set up Jay. The awning really tops it all off.

Love finding those hidden gems just down the road. Sounds like the pups enjoyed it too.
