The re-usable 1# cylinders are pretty nifty. The propane lawn mower conversion is even cooler.

Finally! Anyone know the cost? I'd love to have some of those and be able to fill them on my own from a bigger 5gal tank.

BobM - These 1# Manchester tanks would actually be a lot better and legal. Refilling the disposable 1# canisters are not DOT approved for transport once refilled. I refill mine since it's the only alternative at the moment.

The Manchester's don't look as compact with the valve on them and I wonder how they work in things that are made for the disposable kind. Guess you could use a hose.

Nash Fuel (859-881-0509) in KY sells them for $42.95 shipped. There are two versions ~15.5" x 3" and 11.5" x 3.75".

I've refilled the small 1 lb tanks using an adapter for years, however, it is possible to overfill. I've had 2 tanks that were very cold when I filled them and as they warmed they actually bulged and the pressure relief valve vented. Better to have a 3/4 filled tank and ere on the side of safety.
